That certainly means PeterDalek and all the other gents here...like Doomey...even SteventheRill with his aquarium family :bye:

And I would suggest the same to the moms out there who do 'guy things' with their kids as well :imfao:

Oh, that's so sweet!

I hope the Dalek family had a great day together!

We made a fuss of my husband and took him to drink coffee while watching small planes take off and land at a nearby small airport, then down to the seaside to eat fish and chips and chase the tide along the shore, then along the coast to Dungeness, where we have a nuclear power station, a beautiful lighthouse, and a steam railway line, and again we had coffee while watching the small steam trains come and go at the station, and mused at whether any of the power station employees looked like Homer Simpson.

Most relaxing, despite the cool weather. Oh, and he talked me into cutting his hair!

I don't usually think of Daleks as sweet, but in this case, I will make an exception.

my husband heard from all four of our kids, yesterday. and we went to church.

but he had a terrible headache most of the day. and today his legs are very swollen (he has chronic Edema) so he is spending the day off of them, watching old war movies. :bhincouch: he loves watching them (and old westerns) but not sure he likes being forced to be so sedentary. but can't get him to wear compression stockings, so his condition sadly, comes and goes. :console: though even with them, it still would be a chronic condition.

I spent an hour with my Dad yesterday as he had been busy working in the Trailer Court that he manages.

I did spend some time with him on Saturday. I'm still looking for the gift that I planned to buy for him (phone).

i read of a memory box that i am trying to get our kids to do for their DAD for next year.

what it is just a box (plain or fancy) that has little slips of paper in it. and what is written on them is short memories of things about their dad. maybe it was of how he taught them to fish. or how they saw him cry after returning from the vet when a puppy was put down, and they learned it was OK for men to cry, someTIMEs. or how they learned the lesson of charity by one of his examples. or how he fought for a principle, and won, and they were silently watching.

the dad WHO actually was on the receiving end of such a treasure box one Father's Day, said it was the nicest gift he had ever received from his kids. and even thought he was supposed to read just ONE slip a day for a month. he polished them all off in about two days.

A belated "Happy Father's Day" to all!

We were on the road, so my internet was sporadic and I was trying to keep up with messages, but only seemed to be having luck on Facebook.

So I hope all the dads had a wonderful day (and to the moms who do the "dad things" with their family as well)!

And may those of us whose dads have passed, may those dads rest in peace. They will never be forgotten.
