Well, let's see.... It was 34 Celcius today (93.2 F), but with the humidity, our humidex (how hot it felt) was up at 42 Celcius (107.6 F) and it felt every bit that hot! I'm lucky enough to have air conditioning, but I feel for all those poor folks who don't have it this week. Typically, when it's this hot up here, it's also horribly humid (we're surrounded by two big rivers and a canal) and it doesn't cool down much at night. Add to that the fact that any breeze we might have during the day tends to die down at dusk; so there's not even a cross-draft possible for those people who have windows on more than one side of their house/apartment. Most people with no A/C will start out with all their blinds/drapes/curtains closed and the windows closed in an effort to keep the heat out. Eventually, though, you have to let it in. Stores selling window A/C units and fans love this weather! |

I like low 70's with very low humidity. I don't mind the winter weather as much when it's not too cold or windy. We get the wind chills and humidity because of Lake Erie. I'm fortunate to have the a/c, otherwise on the 3rd floor, it would be unbearable.
