Thanks!

Right now from where I'm sitting, I'm listening to the rain on the skylights...hope it clears up later for FIREWORKS!

Wombat...today's the day for it...you know what...

SIT DOWN JOHN, for God's sake, SIT DOWN!

Since it looks like rain ALL day and ALL night, I think I'll do the popcorn and watch John Adams strut his stuff too in '1776'

Thanks everyone!

As I told Tracy on the other board, I think what makes it wonderful is today reminds me of my dad and maternal grandparents who came over from Czechoslovakia to make a new life here. They all became US citizens. My dad fought in WWII and my maternal grandpa taught other immigrants how to study for their US citizenship exams.

I am so proud of them and all those other immigrants who worked so hard because they wanted their families to have a better life here.

That is what July 4 means to me. :D :usa:

Unfortunately, some people in the US today have lost sight of that personal ideal to have a better life by working for it and becoming true American citizens.
My hat's off and I give support to those who do it the proper legal way such as your family did. That is what America was all about...new start in life without looking back.

Sampson was whining to go out so stepped out in the back yard with him, Mason, Champ and Nero. Got to see fireworks from I think the Orioles farm team ball park across the street. The ones that made it up high enough over the trees were really good. Champ was upset and barking at the colors more than the noise

Oh Abigail, Abigail, I have such a desire to knock heads together!!!

I do love the July 4th holiday... it keeps me employed, after all.

Yep...there aren't too many of us who remember the Whiskey Rebellion :imfao:

They don't teach about that one any more.
Speaking of teaching...we were discussing the Gaol at Salem yesterday. I have yet to get to that quaint old building but was told there's a cell that is so small, there's no way to sit down in it. Our forefathers were very imaginative at times.
