Thanks for the update, pa. I'll be thinking of him as he continues to convalesce in the hospital.

Dear Pattie Anne: My thoughts and prayers are with your family. I can't imagine what you're going through. All the best to them.

"Look at the sky-it's not dark, and black, and without character. The black is in fact deep blue. And over there, lighter blue. And blowing through the blueness and the blackness, the wind swirling through the air-and then, shining, burning, bursting through the stars! Can't you see how they roar their light?Everywhere we look, the complex magic of nature blazes before our eyes." Vincent Van Gogh actor Tony Curran 'Vincent and the Doctor' (2010) | |

Eric comes from a long line of very strong and amazing people. I have confidence in him. Meanwhile, thanks for the names - makes prayers a little less complex. |

Thanks folks. Fourth Eric Update - Went though ear surgery just fine. The docs have him on some sort of device so he can hear. (No further word on exactly what that device is - nor if it is a permanent arrangement. Maybe GU's good doctor may know 'moore' about that device than what we have been told.) Our daughter-in-law (Sonia) and great-grand-daughter (Julie) were supposed to be flow out to Walter Reed Hospital, in DC, by the Wounded Warriors Group, to be with Eric, Whitney and Wyatt, BUT Eric has developed some sort of bacterial infection so he is now in isolation/quarantine. Wyatt can not go into the room to be with his dad, and Whitney is allowed in, only for a few minutes each day to be with her husband, and then only when she is all gowned up. Docs do not know if Eric picked up his bug in Afghanistan/the army field hospital/in Germany/or at Walter Reed. So Sonia's (Eric's mother-in-law) and Julie's (Eric's daughter) flight is on hold. Prayers still needed and most appreciated. Pattie Anne

Thanks for the 4th update, pa. The device is probably some sort of special hearing aid. I'm glad the surgery went well. Hopefully, the bacteria will go away very soon. I'll keep him in my thoughts. |
