Usually Labor Day is the 'official' end of summer season. Actually this weekend I have TWO days off in a row! First time in ages since Christmas last year. We're going to my boss's house to nuke the grass, Ophelia's for brunch and then the rest of the 48 hours "shore leave" is unplanned. Maybe a bit of yard stuff, play in the studio and just take it plain 'easy'. Anyone doing anything special tomorrow and Monday? |

Nothing too special on my part. Just staying indoors and watching a David Tennant marathon('The End of Time' Parts 1 & 2, 'Casanova', 'Secret Smile', 'Hamlet', 'L.A. Without A Map'). I also plan on listening to my Doctor Who books on CD read by David. It's going to be a day devoted to Tennant! I love Labour Day! I'm glad Summer is coming to an end. It's been too long and too hot and humid. Plus all the kiddies will be clearing out of the shopping malls(of which I love to visit) and it will be less chaotic for me to shop.

I'm with Marcello, it was too hot and too humid this summer. The kids have already gone back to school. We're not doing very much this Labor Day. |

I expect to be working. Yes, won't miss the muggy weather. Shopping season, definitely.

We'll pretty much take it easy on Labor Day. With homeschooling, my dd won't get time off again til Thanksgiving. |

I'll be doing some writing on my thesis. I have to have at least 2 pages but if I can I may go for more. Then I have a Billy Connelly DVD to watch and the entire series of Mongrels to view. |

nope. and pattie anne says sleepily: "was it a holiday? hard to remember, when 1) you are old ... and 2) every day is like a day off, when one no longer has to go to work. (and may you all soon know that same grand and glorious feeling.)" |

I hope I can reach 65, P.A. The way I'm eating, I wouldn't be surprised if I make an earlier exit. I love my salty foods. You deserve the best retirement you can possibly get, Mrs. Anders. I hope you have lots of FUN! Now you can have time to plan to make the trip of a lifetime happen in meeting TOM. One of my dreams would be the bunch of us from this awesome forum go to see TOM together. That would be a dream road trip!

The way my job is I barely notice holidays either, except that it's a pain sometimes when nearly everything is closed. |

Went up to Michigan to visit an old friend from grad school. Well, she's younger than me, but... Everything except the grocery store was closed, but that was was fine. We walked around a lot and she showed me the campus of the university where she teaches. Coked a lot, talked a lot and laughed - pretty neat time. Also snagged the last five gallons of gas at a gas station before it ran out.

Okay, so you'll need a bigger car, but you'll have plenty of gas.
