Dear All: I thought I'd start this topic just so we can all get to know each other even better. Well...here goes! I was born in Niagara Falls, Ontario CANADA on February 10th, 1978 and lived there til December 21st, 2001. I moved to Port Colborne, Ontario the next day and lived there til November 21st, 2002 and then moved to St. Catharines, Ontario where I currently (happily) reside. You all don't have to participate if you feel this is getting too non-private, but feel free if you wish. Oh BTW my parents were both born in Italy. Thats where I got the Italian name. My first language is most definately English then a distant second Italian. I have no Italian accent if you're wondering. Though I've been told by some that certain words are pronounced in a Southern way(in terms of North America). Many people say I have a slight accent(just not an Italian one). While others say I sound perfectly Canadian to them. I guess it's in the EAR of the beholder.

Spring chicken. I was born in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada, and still live here. That's 47 years in the same city. A year ago I moved from the house I'd lived in for 34 years - I don't move around much! I think that's why I really want a Tardis, so I can travel and still take home with me. My family is a mix of Swedish and Norwegian on my dad's side, and Irish and some other miscellaneous European countries on my mom's side. I don't take after my mom's side very much, except in absolutely loving Irish music (but doesn't everybody, no matter where they come from?). |

Speaking of Irish, my brother married an Irish girl back in 2000 named Bernadette Dunn. She kept her last name in Marriage as her first name definately doesn't go with Cristiano. It simply doesn't have a ring to it like Dunn. Also I really dig U2. My favorite album by them is 'Pop'. I also like The Cranberries. THANKS for participating, Hypatia. BTW, Hypatia is a really lovely name. P.S. Hypatia, check out my Sherlock thread in this section. It's on the Canadian channel Showcase if you're interested in seeing it. It's co-written, co-created, and co-executive produced by Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss(both from OUR show). Also Gatiss plays Sherlock's brother Mycroft. Gatiss also played Richard Lazarus in the series three Doctor Who episode "The Lazarus Experiment". He was awesome in that episode! You can go to www.showcase.ca website to try and find out how to convert the Eastern Time Zone to your Alberta time zone. |

From the Bay State of Massachuetts, lived up and down the Eastern coast.. From New Hampshire, Maryland, Vermont, back to Maryland, to New Hamshire and then to Maine. Very used to moving every 2 years and never went to one school more than 2 consecutive years. The joys of working for Uncle and going for those higher grades. Stayed in Maine for 25 years and now in Florida these past 14 years where we've moved 4 times within the same city. French / Scottish / English combo with a bit of Romish tossed in I think...since itchy feet seems to run on Dad's side. Instead of going to Canada when we lived in VT, we drove down into Mexico~ Acupulco where I went in the Pacific and watched the cliff divers. When in Maryland (second time) we headed west to do the National Parks and second year, up to Expo 67 in Montreal. In New Hampshire, we went up through Maine to New Brunswick and back via car ferry from Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. There are 11 states I haven't been in..perhaps someday I'll remedy that Parents already have been to Alaska and Rio Di Janiero... and spent every spring school vacation being poked and prodded at either John Hopkins or Children's in Boston for the week until 1968 no matter where we lived. |

I was an air force brat (RCAF). Born in Montreal because that's where my mom's parents were and she went "home" to have me. Then to Belleville, Ontario because my dad was stationed at Trenton Air Force Base nearby. From Belleville we moved to Germany and were there for 4 years. Great time for us kids because it was in the early 50's and there were still bombed-out buildings and bunkers with big gun shell casings still in them. Italy for a month every summer, Christmas every year in the Austrian alps. From Germany, we moved to northern Quebec. My family were there for 4 years, I moved to my grandparents in Montreal after 2 years because there weren't any orthodontists in Chicoutimi. Next posting was Oklahoma City where I went to and finished high school. Back to Canada and Ottawa where my dad retired after one year there. I stayed and they moved to southwestern Quebec. I've been in Ottawa ever since. I have two brothers who were born in Belleville, one brother born in Germany, and my baby sister was born in Oklahoma. Except for a brief stint working as a keypunch operator at the Canadian Income Tax department, my entire working life was spent in IT at the Canadian Department of Agriculture. |

Born in a hospital, on top of a very tall hill in Massachusetts. Been in Indiana for longer than I care to admit, but please don't hold that against me. I still drink soda (Hoosiers drink pop) and I have aunts rather than ants. |

I was born on 10/4/70 in Beirut, Lebanon during a war. The rumour at the hospital was that my father was American and my mother was Armenian. For reasons unknown I was put up for adoption and had little chance of survival. Four months after my birth in Aug 70 I was adopted by a couple, a 40 year old Englishman and a 50 year old Armenian woman, they became my Mum & Dad. They took me back to their home in Kent UK and I've lived here ever since. They were very loving parents, unfortunately my Dad died suddenly in 1987 and my Mum in 2000. I am very lucky indeed, they saved me in many ways and I am very grateful and fortunate for all they gave me. PD |

For a minute I thought I was seeing double. Then I realized that this was also posted on Tom's other forum. ;) Born in DC--lived in MD for about half of my life. Taught school (learning disabled children then a middle school English teacher in a Catholic school) for a while there when I graduated from college (which I also attended in MD). Boy! Does that seem to be in a galaxy far, far away! Now residing in PA. Don't know what the future will hold. I keep telling my youngest we need to move to the UK so we can like Dr. Who and not get weird looks from folks who like Star Trek. :) |
