Stephen J Cannell has died of cancer on Sept. 30. He was 69. He wrote the A team, The Rockford Files, Columbo (TV series) and many more. He left behind a wife of many years and 3 children and several grandchilren.

He also suffered Dyslexia his whole young life until a college profoessor helped him to overcome it and he suceeded in becoming a writer and later producer for television.

Rest in Peace, Stephen.

My condolences to Stephen's family. I loved Columbo. Especially the episode's with William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy. Great series! It was a show that really made you think.

I was amazed to see exactly how many series he was behind...a very good long run on the tv. Too bad writers/producers of his ilk are far and few in-between when you look at what's on tv nowadays.

Definitely a loss at an early age.
