Introduction

The year is 1905 and the Wild West is dyin'. Big companies from the East Coast 're expandin' Westward, 'nd it's only a matter a' time 'fore they hit our little Salleya. 'Course, with 'em comes urbanization. And with that, corruption.

Rough 'n' tumble cowboys are a rare breed 'round these parts. Folks just don't remember the times when a cowboy was enough to keep 'em theivin' badits in check. Recently, gangs've been sproutin' up all around 'nd the marital law just ain't enough to keep 'em down, 'spite the best efforts of my deputies. Hijackin' wagons is becoming more 'n' more common, 'nd folks just don't go missin' for no reason.

Worst of all 'em gangs are the damned Viper's Tooth. They come into my little town 'nd there's nuthin' I can do to stop 'em. They got numbers like you wouldn't believe, 'nd they'd shoot you dead faster'n you can look 'em in the eye - if ye're brave enough to stay on the streets, that is.

Character Creation

Well, what will you do in Salleya, younin'? Fight for justice or become menace of the county: we all gotta part to play. Be you a bounty hunter, trapper, smith or lawless bandit, there's something for you to do 'round here. You'll get your job, just remember: no one starts of a sheriff and two prospectors'll shoot each other dead 'fore settin' in the same town. When settlin' in, just fill out some registration documents, 'nd you'll be on your way.

Character Template

Character Name:

Sex: Are you a gentleman or a lady?

Character Description: What do you look like? Spare no details. ;)

Reason: What brings you to our humble town?

Job: Got any work experience? This will affect your starting skills.

Stat Rules

Each one a' us has got different skills. 'Round here, we rate things based somewhat on the Warhammer statline. The following are some base stats 'nd a little explanation a' each one.

Stats

WeaponSkill (WS): How good can you handle a Jackknife? This stat goes up to fifty, and has no effect on your ability with a gun. The starting figure varies from person to person.

Strength: The brute force of your blows, rated on a scale up to thirty. Of course, figures vary from person to person. Guns follow the same scale, but go up to 100.

Stamina: How much fight you got left in you. Starts at fifty, and at twenty your other stats also start hurting. Keep in mind, it takes a lot more effort to throw a punch than to fire a gun, and that bleeding is the fastest way to lose your will to fight.

Wounds: Any wounds you have sustained will be listed here and will affect other stats.

Skills: Anything you are good at will be listed and explained here. Mainly affected by your starting job.

Gun Rules

Just like people, guns are all a little unique in their own way. They follow their own stats

Gun Stats

Range: All guns have their limits. At some point, the bullet just trails off or looses too much speed to keep going. The true limits to how far a bullet can travel, however, are yet to be reached.

Strength: How much of a punch your gun packs.

Shot: What kind of firing mechanism does your gun use and how much can it fire before you need to reload. Will either be single shot (X#), semi automatic (X#) or automatic (X#). Where the (X#) is how many bullets can be fired before reloading.

Price: How expensive the gun is. Around these parts, we use the American dollar.

Renown and Morality

Renown and morality... Now, not ev'ry one a' us is a sinner and none of us 're saints. Whatever yer morality is, it'll be rated on a scale a' one to ten. One is Psychotic 'nd ten is Saviour. Naturally, A psychopath is gonna get some less than desirable

Renown and morality are important when it comes to what side you are on. Everything you do will affect your morality and renown.
Morality is scaled from 1 to 10, ten being known as Saviour and 1 as Psychotic. Generally they affect who you will get jobs from. 5 is neutral and what you will start at (or around depending upon your history). Renown is how well known you are, generally it changes the speed of which your Morality will change, as iff you are very well known and you kill someone people will avoid you, or vice versa. Both of these affect the jobs you get and how hard they are.

Your Turn

Your turn will be done alot like Moulder pitfighters AP system. However we will give it a fancy name, hours. Your player will have 12 hours to do actions, either the action hours will be specified by me before you do it or you will say how long you want to try for. The turn will be updated weekly. All orders you do will be PMed to the Orders profile, also you will have an hour glass thread in your Rucksack where you put how you allocated your hours (using the template that will be there). Turn ends at GMT midnight friday night, any orders sent past that will be ignored no matter what. Note that non-cannon jobs will take up your 12 hours, and also many jobs will have reccuring hours meening they may take up 2 hours first week then 1 the next or so on, you will be told before hand if they are like this.
You can do many things in your turn, a small list is:

Weapon search (find anything not in the market)
Jobs (do any available jobs)
Chat (talk to NPC's in town)
Hunt (go kill an animal, skin it and sell its parts!)
Go Camping (doing this is assured an bandit attack)

Think of more on your own! :)

Death
While your chances of a character dieing are slim it can still happen and will deffinately happen. If this happens you may go and create a new character, starting at basics again. However many wounds (maybe not death but wounds that would usually slowly lead to death) will be able to be patched up by a doctor iff you are near town.

Jobs
Jobs will be posted up in the high street, a reward will be posted and the amount of hours it will take. Jobs will take two forms, cannon and non-cannon.

Cannon Jobs are jobs that will affect the main game and the storyline.
Non-cannon jobs are ones that will not affect the main game and storyline. However you will still gain the rewards to use elsewhere iff you want them!

Gambling

Some people need a way to use, or even earn more money. Gambling is risky but many people do it. Within the poker room of the Highstreet you can play Texas Hold 'em poker. Go to the Poker Room to learn more.
