What it is
RPtRP is basically PtP with RP thrown in the mix. All of us are familiar with PtP. But for those who have not limited exposure to RP, or text based RP to be more specific, here's a basic rundown on what it entails. Lets start with the most basic aspect of text based RP, and that is...

1 - They are completely text-based. Obviously that's obviously obvious is it not obvious? So no pretty pictures (sorry, Kith), although it would be good to post screenshots of your PtP results. To enjoy this form of RP, it's good if you enjoy reading and writing because most of the non-combat interactions with others are done through reading what they write and writing your own responses. It is like a form of collaborative story-writing.

2 - You generally only control the actions of your own character in writing. When you write a description of your character's actions, you only describe what he/she says or does. You get together with others and play out a scene between your characters, taking turns to write poses/actions that show actions and reactions according to what is happening in the scene describe by your RP partner/s. Which means...

3 - you cannot RP alone. It requires at least one more person. So to have fun in RP, you cannot keep to yourself like you would with one handed surfing.

Roleplay Basics
RP could be said to be half collaborative writing and half improvisation.

There can be a mix of spontaneous and pre-planned scenes. Scenes can be simple one-off encounters like e.g. in a tavern where characters gather to drink and gossip or be a part of long-running plots with complex goals. To fully make use of the mechanics of GoT:A, it is best to come up with scenarios that would lead to interaction in the game which I guess would mainly be PtP.

Some scenes involve as little as two characters but there is no upper limit, though scenes with twenty or more characters in the same room can get nasty and even chaotic.

Tips for noobs
- For anyone who isn't familiar but would like to give it a go, it can be a good idea to watch/read a scene or two before joining in.

- Try out smaller scenes at first, so you don't feel overwhelmed or overreach yourself.

- Read the actions from others so that you know what is going on and where in the room everyone is.

- You may find others taking turns writing their scenes, so make sure you don't rush out a bunch of actions before anyone has a chance to react.

- Do not be shy to express yourself. This is your chance to let your inner GRRM loose. Go for it!

- There's no limit to how many posts/pages you should write. It can be just a 2 post affair. E.g.:

post 1: dont like your face;
post 2. dont like yours either. Lets fight.
the End.

Or it can be a long multi-page corker. Your imagination, your determination, and your patience are the delimiting factors.

So that's it basically. If anyone else has anything to add, please feel free to add to the thread with your input. So enjoy and get writing and PtP-ing!!
