yes, we have quite a few inactive mods. we have to come to a compromise on how to de-mod them if they become too inactive.

Now, there are some factors that we can't use, like not enough modding, because; me or burger would pick up on it first, because we are more active, or our userbase is quite good, so there isn't much to do besides joke warn people or sticky topics.

So, any ideas on a system?

I think we should use this system:

-Inactivity for a week (inactivity means hardly active, not just visiting the forum, then going)

-Lack of existance (even posting on boards should be classified)

-we feel the user has done nothing but use the position for bragging rights.

So who are we looking at De-modding?

no one at the moment, but we need a system of how to act on an inactive moderator.

Maybe I should have told you this sooner. I sent PMs to the mods a week ago asking if they were willing to step down for some compensation. DN is the only one who responded to it. I asked if they had specific requests before resigning, and I intend on honouring them. I'm going to hold off on this for a bit though.

Edit:

well tbh i haven't really be doing that much as a mod, although there isn't really much to do anyway it seems. the thing is there are abilities i like as a mod, and i would retire but that would mean losing those features.

being able to post in closed topics, being able to see other IP's, and the ability to see and post in the mod boards, and post in the announcement board. i still want those abilities, and maybe a couple more im forgetting. if there were a way i could keep these and still retire, i would be glad to. but otherwise, id be happier as a mod.

although if there were some things you would like me to do as a mod, id be glad to do them.

I think DN is the only one who really could have been a sucessful mod if we had more troublesome users. Anyway, his requests aren't too much to ask. But dont do it yet guys.

thats like leaving him as a mod, but making him a user. sure, give him access to post in the mod forum, but not announcements.

Though, I agree with what you said burger, he would be excellent if we got troublesome users here...

Hmm...

-_-

Would it be so horrible if we DID get troublesome users? The mods and admins can catch whatever crap they're flinging. It would increase activity and give mods something to do.

i would absolutely love that.

how about we ask rapid/clad if they want a job of some sort?

The problem with that is that we cant trust them to keep their mouths shut. What would the board think of us if we incited a troll invasion?

Crazy, i've gone over every scenario in my head because I've thought about this for a long time.

hey, if it proves that our mods are dedicated, what could go wrong?

remember steven tyler and sockdude? they were me and you burger,a nd we trolled and flamed, and chaet showed he could do anything to them even if it costed him his modship, but he understood that Steven Tyler was me and he thought it was a good idea.
