There are two major groupings of gods: Human gods and Elven gods. The only difference between the two is that the human gods are primarily worshiped by humans and elven gods are primarily worshiped by elves. As a rule of thumb, most human nations are monotheistic and most elven nations are polytheistic. Most other races - such as Avians - typically worship 'human' gods.

Demons are the embodiment of chaos. While not inherently evil, they are more often than not malevolent and the grand majority of demons are evil beings. There are several different types of demons, and different ways to categorize demons.

Power

Lesser demons: Less powerful demons, without major magical ability. Not much more powerful than a mortal.
Demons: Quite powerful, average demons have some powers that could be considered unnaturally powerful.
Greater Demons: Practically gods in power, Greater demons are truly a force to be reckoned with. It's not unknown for greater demons to have cults dedicated to them.

Species

Demons' species are made up of the ugly sides of mortals' personalities taken to their logical extreme. Most demons were mortals whose souls were so tainted by their personality's ugly side and were so cruel that their soul itself was twisted into a demon.

Lust - Lust demons, also known as "Succubi" or the singular "Succubus" are known for taking a female form by stealing a woman's skin and seducing men. These men usually start to show signs of disease a week after 'meeting with' a succubus. This disease is spread through more 'meetings' with other women and causes death one week after symptoms appear - which include ulcers, slimy skin that falls off of the victim, and other general unpleasantness. Once they die, their soul is twisted into a minor demon in service of the succubus that killed them.

Gluttony - Gluttony demons will eat anything and anyone, and as much as it will take to quench their unending hunger. Gluttony demons, much like avarice demons, often go on killing sprees; though Gluttony demons are cowards and will kill and eat anything else before resorting to attacking mortals that could potentially kill them. They're known for terrorizing small villages with famines by killing and eating their livestock and demolishing their crops before finally attacking the residents of the town.

Avarice - Avarice demons want everything. Land, power, money, everything - and they'll go to any extreme to get that anything. Avarice demons are known for going on killing sprees and taking everything that's left, including the possessions, clothes, bodies, and even the grass and dirt back to their realm where they plot their next 'acquisition'. Great treasures can be found in Avarice demons' lairs if one feels up to sifting through all of the mortal remains and useless junk.

Acedia - Sloth demons are the least commonly encountered species of demon for obvious reasons. It takes a lot to rouse a sloth demon into action, and they frequently take breaks and rests while pursuing any objective at all. However, this doesn't make them less effective hunters than other types of demons as they're known for being able to instill the same apathy and sloth that they themselves feel in others.

Wrath - The most violent of the demons, wrath demons are known for pursuing even the slightest wrongs relentlessly, and are often contracted by wrathful mages to fulfill revenges. Wrath demons are easy to set onto a course and the least likely to waver from their vengeance.

Envy - Envy demons want nice things. They resort to thievery, blackmail, and murder in order to take that of which they're envious, which tends to be anything that they see which suits their particular taste. Unlike avarice demons, envy demons tend to have only one particular fixation which they're concerned with owning, such as art, luxurious clothing, and nice shoes.

Pride - Pride demons are prideful. Obviously. They seek things to make themselves more attractive and beautiful, often stealing handsome mortals' skins and clothing. Also known as "Incubi" or male sexual demons - though Incubi (or the singular form, "incubus") are more concerned with their own appearance and abilities than in corrupting mortals.
