So ready. And please let the election produce the true winner. Gone are the days we just have to pray for our candidate to win, now we have to hope our winner doesn't get declared the loser in some act of assfuckery. If we get stuck with four more years of shit, or if we have an election debacle like 8 years ago, I might wind up in jail, I swear. Do you think I'll have internet access there? |

I hate to say it, but I think every major country on earth is upset with their leader, which kind of sucks. I'm just tired of having the same politicians running every election. The same two people who ran for governor of Washington last election are running this election and if you ask me they both suck. Oh well, for all the 2012 believers the world is going to end in four years, so for them it probably doesn't matter. And I don't speak Swedish, so that might be a problem in Sweden. |

I actually watched the kind of snooze fest of a debate last night and of course think Barack clearly won of course. But Barack actually had a moment where I wanted to reach out and hug him. It was when he told the story of watching his mom dying of cancer in the hospital and watching her have to battle with insurance companies the entire time and how there is something fundamentally wrong that. I thought that was so moving because I experienced the same exact thing in 2003 w/my mom, he actually gave me a teary eyed moment at that point. It just gave me yet another reason to want to vote for the man because although I respect McCain's military service I just think he has lost touch of what it is like to be an average person. He isn't as relatable and well as human as Barack and proved that all the more last night. But add another to the why you should vote for Barack tally!

LOL! Something funny happened today. My sister and I were in line to vote, and were eavesdropping on the person in front of us. She went behind the booth to vote and then came back out. This is how the conversation went between her and the supervisor lady. "Where is the black guy and McCain?" "What do you mean?" "I don't recognize any of these names. Where are Obama and McCain?" "Uh, this is Canada. They are American." "Really?! I hear about them ALL the time, thats so insane. I could have sworn they were running in our election!" My sister and I were trying SOOO hard not to laugh loudly at her. I was kind of shocked, I mean...She shouldn't even be voting if she doesn't know who is running LOL. |

that IS so exciting Shannon, congratulations.
I really hope this elections gets the greatest voter turnout ever; I would think it will. Voter turnout was up 60% in 2004 from the previous presidential election... but look what that got us. |

I really hope Obama wins. I don't think I can take another fours years of republicans. It's weird that I can finally vote though, because I've been waiting for the chance to vote for so long and it's werid that it's finally here. I thought it would never come. The guitarist of Melee posted this in a bulletin on myspace and, although long, it's pretty funny and kind of true: "Dear Red States... We've decided we're leaving. We intend to form our own country, and we're taking the other Blue States with us. In case you aren't aware, that includes Hawaii, Oregon,Washington, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois and all the Northeast. We believe this split will be beneficial to the nation, and especially to the people of the new country of New California. To sum up briefly: You get Texas, Oklahoma and all the slave states. We get stem cell research and the best beaches. We get Elliot Spitzer. You get Ken Lay. We get the Statue of Liberty. You get Dollywood. We get Intel and Microsoft. You get WorldCom. We get Harvard. You get Ole' Miss. We get 85 percent of America's venture capital and entrepreneurs. You get Alabama. We get two-thirds of the tax revenue, you get to make the red states pay their fair share. Since our aggregate divorce rate is 22 percent lower than the Christian Coalition's, we get a bunch of happy families. You get a bunch of single moms. Please be aware that Nuevo California will be pro-choice and anti-war, and we're going to want all our citizens back from Iraq at once. If you need people to fight, ask your evangelicals. They have kids they're apparently willing to send to their deaths for no purpose, and they don't care if you don't show pictures of their children's caskets coming home. We do wish you success in Iraq, and hope that the WMDs turn up, but we're not willing to spend our resources in Bush's Quagmire. With the Blue States in hand, we will have firm control of 80 percent of the country's fresh water, more than 90 percent of the pineapple and lettuce, 92 percent of the nation's fresh fruit, 95 percent of America's quality wines (you can serve French wines at state dinners) 90 percent of all cheese, 90 percent of the high tech industry, most of the U.S. low-sulfur coal, all living redwoods, sequoias and condors, all the Ivy and Seven Sister schools, plus Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Cal Tech and MIT. With the Red States, on the other hand, you will have to cope with 88 percent of all obese Americans (and their projected health care costs), 92 percent of all U.S. mosquitoes, nearly 100 percent of the tornadoes, 90 percent of the hurricanes, 99 percent of all Southern Baptists, virtually 100 percent of all televangelists, Rush Limbaugh, Bob Jones University, Clemson and the University of Georgia. We get Hollywood and Yosemite, thank you. Additionally, 38 percent of those in the Red states believe Jonah was actually swallowed by a whale, 62 percent believe life is sacred unless we're discussing the death penalty or gun laws, 44 percent say that evolution is only a theory, 53 percent that Saddam was involved in 9/11 and 61 percent of you crazy b*****ds believe you are people with higher morals then we lefties. By the way, we're taking the good pot, too. You can have that dirt weed they grow in Mexico. Peace out, Blue States" |

Well, I live in a "red" state, but that's not how I voted  . Even though stupid dh told me that my vote wouldn't matter, since TX will go to McCain . I voted anyway and got my voter card stamped "democrat" . I have to admit that this is the first election that I have voted democrat, though. I have always voted republican in past elections, but I decided a long time ago that I was voting for Obama this time 'round. Just love him

Well at least you voted. Maybe we can cross our fingers and hope that Texas goes to Obama. Washington is a blue state and has been blue for a long time. Also, in Washington you don't have to declare which party you're in to vote. |
