I just watched "Inside Llewyn Davis."

I got it from Netflix because Rotten Tomatoes gives it a 94% approval.

It wasn't awful, but it wasn't that good either. I think some films critics are afraid to call out as emperors with no clothes, lest they don't look cool or sophisticated.

I've learned that people are so different, its crazy to think that a critic who lives in a loft in a big city will have the same taste as a farmer in the Midwest or a teen in a suburban valley. Critics and ratings are useless. See what appeals to you and not others.

Well reviewed films appeal to me.

Then you enjoyed the show and this thread is irrelevant.

I watched "Anchorman 2" a couple nights ago. I don't think I even smiled during the movie, much less laughed. I simply don't get the allure of Will Ferrell. The only thing I found interesting was the fact that they shot it here and it's always fun to see how they use local venues in a movie. Other than that I could have slept through the whole thing.

Obviously the first one (which I never saw) did very well or they wouldn't have made a 2nd one. I just don't get it.

In an admission that the movie sucked, there was talk about re-releasing it with none of the same jokes.

I get the appeal of Will Farrell -- he is very unchallenging -- but I find him very overrated.

Citizen Kane was the most boring, difficult-to-sit through films we have ever seen.

I didn't much like the Coen's period movie where the tornado hits at the end (forget the title). I don't think they've 'shot their wad' (I did enjoy "Burn After Reading"), but they prove that they can create stinkers, too.
