Our man (str8 guy) friend who is an aircraft mechanic(Lufthansa) at Barcelona airport says the word is that it was because the Captain was drunk, passed out on the cot behind the cockpit and the two co pilots could not deal with the situatia. The official story is that the Captain decied to take a regulatia short 'nap' http://www.vanityfair.com/business/2014/10/air-france-flight-447-crash |

They're actually required to take naps on certain routes. I just read yesterday that loony Gary Busey was threatened with arrest on his flight back to America after winning Celeb Big Brother because he was being too loud and the captain was unable to sleep during his scheduled nap. |

I often time nod off for a nap on my way home from a long day of work. I guess that's why every now and then I miss the freeway off ramp to my home. That can be really annoying. :zzzz |
