And it should be tax free money. I'm assuming the cop got off with nary a warning? I'd love to know if the city is paying this settlement out of their own coffers or if their insurance carrier is paying it. If this is an insurance payout I would think the city's carrier would very likely refuse to cover that particular officer any longer. That's many times how cities justify firing officers to keep the police unions off their backs. |

If you read the article, it says he resigned. And still may face legal issues, like a civil $uit. |
