Ryan Seacrest. He is vacuous and queeny and NBC needs a gay in the seat. Someone wanted dirt on Lester The Molester? He was hired by the late fatty Jerry Nachman.I think he's biracial. Diaz Balart? His uncle is Fidel Castro. |

Can't stand to look at Lester Holt. He has those fold back teeth that are always so off-putting. |

He shouldn't have to resign. We all embellish our stories a bit over time. He's only human he made a mistake and conflagrated some of his Iraq War experiences-the real liars are Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld. When will they apologize? |

He should be held to a higher standard, as the face of NBC news. |

First I've ever heard of him. He looks like a pentecostal TV preacher. And you know that that means. He's probably a lover of all things peen while posing as a rampant heterosexual.

It used to be embarrassing to get caught in a lie. This one is 12 years old, Katrina lies by him 8 years. What has taken so long. he seems to be a habitual liar. |

And the hilarious thing is you can bet your bottom dollar every single one of the people "investigating" him are just as big a liar is he is (if not bigger). Lying seems to be a way of life with most media people, especially the on-camera folks. News media is no different than entertainment media. They merged into the same venue long ago when real news professionals all but died out. |

Sweet little Katie Couric would put her children up for adoption if it would get her a position she wanted in the media. |

Brian Williams is stepping away from NBC Nightly News for a number of days. The anchor sent a note to the show's staff, announcing that Lester Holt is replacing him for an unspecified amount of time. The news comes as Williams is embroiled in a scandal surrounding his story about being a passenger in a helicopter that took fire in Iraq in 2003. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/brian-williams-stepping-away-nbc-771102 lot more at link |

I think Katie Couric would be making a big mistake if she takes over for Brian Williams. Right now David Muir is on the ascendency, and whoever replaces Williams will take a hit in the ratings. If she anchors another network nightly newscast and slides in the ratings it could finish her in the media. |

Brian Williams was just suspended from NBC for 6 months for lying about being shot at in a helicopter. NBC released a harsh statement, saying, "Brian has jeopardized the trust millions of Americans place in NBC News. His actions are inexcusable and this suspension is severe and appropriate." The suspension is immediate and without pay. Lester Holt will continue substituting for Williams. In making the decision to suspend and not fire Williams, NBC News honcho Deborah Turness said they considered the good work Williams did for 22 years. http://www.tmz.com/2015/02/10/brian-williams-suspended-nbc-news-helicopter-shot-lied-lester-holt/ |

From: "Deborah Turness (NBCUniversal)" Date: Tue, Feb 10, 2015 at 4:48 PM -0800 Subject: Brian Williams To: "@NBC Uni NBC News All" All, We have decided today to suspend Brian Williams as Managing Editor and Anchor of NBC Nightly News for six months. The suspension will be without pay and is effective immediately. We let Brian know of our decision earlier today. Lester Holt will continue to substitute Anchor the NBC Nightly News. Our review, which is being led by Richard Esposito working closely with NBCUniversal General Counsel Kim Harris, is ongoing, but I think it is important to take you through our thought process in coming to this decision. While on Nightly News on Friday, January 30, 2015, Brian misrepresented events which occurred while he was covering the Iraq War in 2003. It then became clear that on other occasions Brian had done the same while telling that story in other venues. This was wrong and completely inappropriate for someone in Brian’s position. In addition, we have concerns about comments that occurred outside NBC News while Brian was talking about his experiences in the field. As Managing Editor and Anchor of Nightly News, Brian has a responsibility to be truthful and to uphold the high standards of the news division at all times. Steve Burke, Pat Fili and I came to this decision together. We felt it would have been wrong to disregard the good work Brian has done and the special relationship he has forged with our viewers over 22 years. Millions of Americans have turned to him every day, and he has been an important and well-respected part of our organization. As I’m sure you understand, this was a very hard decision. Certainly there will be those who disagree. But we believe this suspension is the appropriate and proportionate action. This has been a difficult time. But NBC News is bigger than this moment. You work so hard and dedicate yourselves each and every day to the important work of bringing trusted, credible news to our audience. Because of you, your loyalty, your dedication, NBC News is an organization we can – and should - all be proud of. We will get through this together. Steve Burke asked me to share the following message. “This has been a painful period for all concerned and we appreciate your patience while we gathered the available facts. By his actions, Brian has jeopardized the trust millions of Americans place in NBC News. His actions are inexcusable and this suspension is severe and appropriate. Brian’s life’s work is delivering the news. I know Brian loves his country, NBC News and his colleagues. He deserves a second chance and we are rooting for him. Brian has shared his deep remorse with me and he is committed to winning back everyone’s trust.” Deborah
Misrepresented the facts, is that what parents are telling their children now when they lie? Or is misrepresented just for adults. He has lied, lied, lied, not just about the one they sort of mention in the above. Deserves a second chance? He's had more chances, what they need to say is he knows some shit on all of us so we can't fire him. What to expect for a channel that hires so called Rev. Al. I skim through the cable news, they all lie. |

I wonder why someone in such a high profile position would tell such big lies that he must have known could provoke witnesses to come forward and ruin his reputation. There really must be something wrong with a person who does that, like a self-destructive streak or something. There was a newspaperman (Op-Ed editor) where I live who did something like that back in the 90's. He actually fabricated letters to the editor about his own Op-eds, was revealed and subsequently ruined (and publicly humiliated.) I never understood why-no one did. There must be some psychological reason for doing that. Either way I feel really bad for Brian Williams. |

David Brooks had a good article in the NYT about this, that Williams' lying is sad and the publics' reaction has been barbaric. I agree on both points. |

I believe it's the nature of the beast. I think the competition in the news racket has gotten so thick that these people resort to tall tales to forward their careers or their allure to the public just like entertainment media personalities do. I'll say it again. If all the liars in the news media were found out and punished there would be few people left to report the news. |
