https://homes.yahoo.com/photos/photos-joan-rivers-palatial-penthouse-1423530031-slideshow/ Nothing subtle here. She was a Rethug cunt but I still want to say something nice about her in death..... She's dead, good. |

Fabulous space, but crap on a cracker how could anyone live in all that baroque period gilt melange and feel like they were in a home? All I would think about is "how in the name of God am I going to keep all this crap clean"? |

I did like the entry hall with the sweeping stairs. I can just picture our treasure of Sierra Madrea, the lovely Mrs Patrick Campbell all decked out making her big entrance to answer the door for one of her $$$$$ gentleman callers. Very chic. |

It looks like a bordello, the whole place would need to be gutted. Great square footage and veranda but the decor while expensive is gaudy. The miles and miles and miles of curtain material and especially in the bathroom, my oh my just horrid. |

It's all so Louis! And while the entry hall and staircase are grand, that "Persian" looks like it was bought at Home Depot. |

Considering it was Joan Rivers, I have little doubt she didn't mix cheap fake with real period pieces. Anyone who would wear that cheap gaudy jewelry she hawked on QVC (and she did) would have no problem throwing a $300.00 Home Depot rug under a $50,000.00 Louis XIV Secretaire. |

Doesn't mean she had good taste in decor. |

The place is perfect for someone who is always "on," always working and never relaxing without a camera on her because it looks like a set. |

The grand entrance hall with the marble stairs and floor, the lights and all look like they were taken out of an old Adler or RKO theatre and placed there. The doors could even be the opening to the theatre. So I agree it is like a movie set. |

As far as Westchester goes, Larchmont is considered inferior to Waccabuc. |
