Federal investigators issued a search warrant to comb through the home of Subway pitchman Jared Fogle on Tuesday, in connection to a child pornography case.

Fogle, 37, was detained outside his Zionsville, Indiana home when a special task force showed up at 6:30am to remove electronics from the property.

The weight-loss icon's wife and kids left just before the raid, and authorities say that Fogle is not under arrest at the time.

n video taken at the scene, Fogle was seen stepping out of a police trailer parked in his driveway and then leading two other men back into his house.

An FBI spokesman confirmed that the agency is conducting a criminal investigation in the area, but would not comment further on the search.

Fogle became a household name in the the late 1990s, when he lost 245 pounds eating an all-Subway diet and started working as a spokesman for the company.

In his famous Subway advertisements, Fogle would hold up a pair of his old 62-inch jeans to show how he lost more than half of his body mass. He is worth a reported $15million and has a 'black card' that gets him free food at Subway restaurants.

The company issued a statement Tuesday afternoon, saying: 'We are shocked about the news and believe it is related to a prior investigation of a former Jared Foundation employee. We are very concerned and will be monitoring the situation closely. We don’t have any more details at this point.'

The raid on Tuesday comes more than a month after the executive director of Fogle's childhood obesity charity - the Jared Foundation - was arrested on child pornography charges.

Former Jared Foundation executive director Russell Taylor, 43, was arrested in May on seven counts of production of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography

It's unclear if the Tuesday raid on Fogle's home was in any way related to Taylor's arrest.

Authorities first started investigating Taylor after receiving a tip from a woman who had been exchanging sexual text messages with the suspect.

She became concerned and called police after Taylor sent her a message, asking if she wanted to see pictures of young girls.

A subsequent search of Taylor's home in Indianapolis turned up more than 400 videos with child pornography, stored on computers and other devices in the home office.

Four minors has been identified as victims in the case, according to court documents.

Following Taylor's arrest, the Jared Foundation cut all ties with the former executive director and Fogle issued a statement saying he was 'shocked' by the allegations.

Following his arrest, Taylor was formally charged in court on May 4 and held at the Marion County jail.

He attempted suicide while behind bars on May 6, but survived and was rushed to an Indianapolis area hospital to be put on life support.

Tim Horty, a spokesman for the U.S. attorney's office, told the Indiana Star on Tuesday that Taylor's health is improving and he is in the custody of the U.S. Marshals.

Fogle was a 425-pound freshman at Indiana University when he decided to try a diet of all Subway sandwiches. He would eat one 6-inch Turkey sub and one foot-long veggie sub every day and lost 84 pounds in the first three months.

When his roommate, Ryan Coleman, wrote an article for the student newspaper about the unusual weight loss program, Subway reached out to Fogle to become a spokesman for the company.

Fogle continues to speak on behalf of the company and has taped more than 300 Subway commercials.

As news broke of the FBI sweep of Fogle's home Tuesday morning, a rumor about the Subway guy's past resurfaced.

In 2007, a source told Best Week Ever that Fogle used to run a black market porn video rental business out of his dorm room, while he was a student at Indiana University.

According to the source, the porn collection was 'vast and extensive' and something Fogle took 'pretty seriously' - charging fellow students a dollar a day to rent them.

The source also claimed that Fogle's legendary Subway diet stemmed from his 'extreme laziness' and the need to man his the porn business in his room.

Subway allegedly opened a branch in his building and it was 'the closest fast food available'.

At the time the report was published in 2007, Subway reps told TMZ that they had no knowledge of the story.

Fogle was married to pediatric nurse Elizabeth Christie from 2001 until 2007. In 2009, he started dating teacher Katie McLaughlin, who he married the following year.

Since losing more than 200 pounds in college, Fogle had maintained a weight of about 190 pounds. But in the lead up to his wedding, People magazine reported that his weight had gone up to 231 pounds.

Fogle attributed the weight loss to reverting to 'old habits' like eating a whole steak instead of half or using full-fat dressing on his salads.

At the time, the told the magazine that he was determined to get back down to 200 pounds for his wedding by going back to his diet and working out four times a week.

The couple's home in the Austin Oaks neighborhood is worth an estimated $536,000, according to Boone County records.

I hope he saved a lot of his money.
Seems Subway is losing its taste for Jared Fogle in the wake of a child porn investigation ... 'cause the sandwich giant is already scrubbing traces of the pitchman from its official website.

As of moments ago, Subway's website no longer connects to "Jared's Journey" -- an entire section devoted to Jared, his weight loss experience ... and fun games and interviews with Jared and celebrities.

The Jared's Journey page also included a blurb about Jared's foundation -- which has been under fire ever since the former director Russel Taylor was arrested for producing and possessing child porn.

The FBI raided Jared's home in Indiana in connection to the investigation this morning ... and now, it seems Subway has wasted no time distancing itself from the spokesperson.

The Jared's Journey section -- which had been active all morning long -- now redirects back to the Subway homepage ... though Jared's image still exists in various parts of the Subway website.

We reached out to Subway for comment -- so far, no word back.

I feel so sorry for those poor children.

It must be so traumatizing to be molested by someone that out of shape.
