I saw Frank Sinatra in concert. It was very late in his life and my parents bought the tickets.

He was awful. It seemed as if he resented being there.

He got to the point he didn't as much sing the songs, but just spoke them. Frank should have retired in the mid 70's.

We paid to see him in 1983 at the Universal Amphitheater in LA.

He reminded us of an old drunk and we left disappointed, but the Buddy Rich orchestra was FABULOUS>

Once his vocal abilities went south people went to see him, not hear him. He could have taken a dump onstage and people would have given him a standing O.

It was the same with Miss Peggy Lee - her fabulous and distinctive voice went in 1976(strokes, etc) but she still sold tickets for nearly another 20 years even though she had no voice left whatever.
