------This is like locking the barn door after all the animals are out....lol Seniors that want or need a gun already have them and have had them for years. It's not their first rodeo.

It sounds like a good idea to me. As far as those old timers who already have guns that could easily be reviewed when the gun permits for people of a certain age have to be renewed. I believe they should take it a step further and require all people after a certain age to submit to some sort of cognitive testing in order to get a gun permit, not just those who demonstrate to SS that they're out of their minds.

Gun permit, really? I don't know about where you live but many states you can strap one on and walk around town, no problem without one.

There are a few states that don't require a permit, but most do. If congress was doing its job it would pass laws that require all states to require the same type of permit.

Half of the states allow open carry.

That's fine, but open carry doesn't necessarily mean no permit required.

I can't imagine living in an "open carry" state. The thought of being in a Target or Starbucks and having people walking around with guns is just mind-blowing to me. I don't know how people think that's normal or okay. I'm lucky I live in New York State I guess, even Upstate they don't allow that.

It's time to repeal the Second Amendment, but that will never happen in my lifetime. Meanwhile, I've been receiving Social Security benefits for several years & using that system to limit gun possession is fine with me.

OO, Georgia is an open carry state (but you must have a permit), and I have never seen anyone in my 62 years, other than a member of law enforcement, in public with a gun in plain sight. Of course there may be people who have them concealed (which is legal here with a permit), but I think the media tries to make it appear that there are hordes of people who aren't crooks running around all over the US with guns in their pockets and that's simply not true. I believe the vast majority of people in this country aren't that loony.

The only gun loon I've ever known was the husband of a gal who worked for me many years ago. She didn't drive and he would drop her off every morning in front of our office building downtown, which was in a safe area. He would sit there in his car on the side of the street with his gun in his lap (according to his wife) and wait until she got inside the building. Just another over reacting loon.

the worst thing we have here is hunters. I'll never even get used to that.

I do think military members should be able to have guns after what happened with that shooting in Tennessee. I'm surprised they're not allowed to already.
