We are worried about this. Will the cats kill the dog? |

They may not kill him, but unless they've been socialized around dogs (and the dog socialized around cats) there may be a rumble. It's far more likely the dog would damage the cats since he's much bigger and stronger. One bite from him to the back of a cat's neck, and a quick shake and the cat is a gonner. So be very careful not to let him off his leash around them until you're absolutely positive they'll get along. It could go fairly easy, or it may never happen at all.

Thanks Tybee We feel the dog would be at the most risk. Cats are like fish and we hate them both. But we trust that the Director of the Protectora will control the situatia knowing that someone has two cats already. |

Cats are not like women or fish. It's silly how you have so much hatred. :rofl |

Most dogs (especially dogs that aren't big and mean) are quite aware of the damage a cat can inflict with its claws even when they have little or no experience with cats, and they do little more than bark. They'll stay well back after they see a cat issue the first strike out with its claws. They may jump at the cat yapping, but they're very careful not to get withing striking distance unless they make a mistake or the cat goes balls to the wall and has a real go at the dog. One of my former cats was mean as a snake and would take on a bear without the least bit of fear. A pit bull raised to be mean would tear a cat to pieces at first site. A poodle would just priss around yapping as if to say "you can't get me, you can't get me". |
