EXCLUSIVE: Headed to the slammer? Troubled former teen idol David Cassidy involved in a hit-and-run crash while his license was suspended and now faces up to 60 days in jail

David Cassidy, 65, was driving at high speeds and going in and out of lanes down a Florida highway when he crashed into another car and fled, say cops
A witness says the Partridge Family star got out of his car and tried to cover his license plate number
Police later found him inside of a hospital where he claimed to be making a scheduled visit before the crash happened
Cassidy faces up to 60 days in jail, six months probation and a $500 fine for leaving the scene of the crash
The police report shows he was never tested for drugs or alcohol by officers
Trouble seems to follow the former teen heartthrob who has three DUI's on his record and filed for bankruptcy earlier this year

Former teen heartthrob David Cassidy could soon be 'daydreamin' from behind bars.

In a police report obtained exclusively to Daily Mail Online the Partridge Family star is accused of slamming into a vehicle while driving at high speeds and swerving in and out of lanes on a Florida highway - then taking off from the scene.

On top of that - he was driving with a suspended license for prior DUI's.

But when cops found him - they never tested him for drugs or alcohol.

Cassidy is now charged for leaving the scene of an accident without giving his information and faces up to 60 days in jail, six months probation and a $500 fine.

On September 9th, he was traveling in a 2014 Silver Kia Sportage on Interstate 595 in Fort Lauderdale.

According to Florida state police, it was around noon when the actor failed to stay in his lane and then crashed into an unidentified car driven by a man named Pedro Vargas.

Vargas pulled over to the side of the road and waited for the cops to arrive.

The report states that when the police got there Vargas was being treated by paramedics.

He was eventually transported to a hospital to check on the extent of his injuries.

A witness at the scene told police Cassidy was speeding when he sideswiped the vehicle.

That same witness then claims the actor got out of his car and attempted to cover his license plate number, before leaving the scene with a flat tire and damage to the right side of his Kia.

Police then sent out a notice to be on the look out for the Kia Sportage driven by Cassidy.

A little over an hour later, his vehicle in was spotted at Cleveland Clinic in Weston, Florida - not very far from the hit-and-run crash scene.

Police officers found Cassidy on the fourth floor where he claimed he left the crash site to go to an already scheduled hospital visit.

He also told officers that he gave his registration and other information to the other driver before taking off.

The 65-year-old actor was never tested for drugs or alcohol by the police.

His car was eventually towed by AAA due to the extent of damage done to it.

The vehicle he collided with has an estimated $12,000 in damages.

Cassidy was citied for improper lane change, unknowingly operating vehicle while having a suspended drivers license due to a previous DUI conviction and operating a vehicle with a expired registration.

He also was issued a citation for leaving the scene of a crash where the damages were more than $50 without giving his information.

Things took a turn for the worse on September 29th when the State Attorney in Broward County, Florida filed a misdemeanor of the second degree charge against the actor for leaving the scene of an accident.

The charging document states Cassidy did not leave his information, despite his claims to the police, and now faces up to 60 days in jail, 6 months probation and a $500 fine.

The former teen idol is due in court on October 12th.

The alleged hit-and-run isn't Cassidy's first run-in with the law - the troubled star has openly admitted to having an alcohol problem and has been arrested for driving under the influence three times in recent years.

His first arrest was in November 2010 in Florida where police dashcam shows him trying to walk a straight line during a sobriety test.

Nearly two years later, August 2013, he was stopped in New York.

Last year, police in California pulled him over after he made an illegal right turn at a red light. He was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

The troubled star also had money problems. He filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy earlier this year on his Florida mansion.

Last month, it was sold for $2 million.

Cassidy paid $1.1 million for the five-bedroom, six-bathroom Fort Lauderdale home in 2001.

At this point I don't think it would matter if his love machine was 11x8.

I also heard a rumor years ago that most people thought his brother Shaun was the gay one, but it was actually David who loved the peen. Shaun has aged better than David. But then he is 8 years younger.

I've seen a few people resurrect themselves after years of substance abuse, but there is a point of no return.

I was at a party decades ago when this drunk twink claimed to have had sex with the lovely Miss Davida Cassidy. I was sure he meant Shaun. Nope, the Get Happy Boi himself.

Take that for what it's worth.
