About 2 1/2 wks. ago I surfed the net and when I clicked on this site, my ISP popped up and said they had made changes and I needed to review, which I did. I've had no warning from the webmaster about improper content or anything. Does anyone know what happened or whom contacted my ISP?

I'm confused. Who is this "they" that supposedly made changes? What were these changes? This is news to me. I have made no changes to this site whatsoever. Are you sure this was your ISP sending you this message? I've never heard of an ISP sending messages to a user when perusing the net. It sounds more like some sort of malware or adware to me. Also, I'm the only one here who would even know who your ISP is and I certainly haven't contacted anyone's ISP nor would I have had a reason to.

I'm very interested to know what these changes were they had you review. I checked my admin control panel and Zetaboards has not notified me of any changes they have made.

Is that why you were gone for about 2 weeks? I noticed you hadn't been posting and was wondering what had happened. Were you unable to go onto the site at all during that time? This is getting curiouser and curiouser.

That sounds like a virus or spyware, and something you should have scanned for immediately after you saw it.

I doubt it was actually your ISP contacting you. In all the years/decades I have been using the internet they just email you about changes, or in the old days they would send out forms via regular mail.

Another question. Was this a browser popup and did this message at any time ask you to submit any info in response? If it did, hopefully you didn't do it.

I think you need to contact your ISP and ask them if this thing came from them. I'm sure they'll tell you it did not.

Also, you need to run an antivirus scan and a malware scan with Malwarebytes, if you haven't already. It may not necessarily be a virus but rather a form of malware or browser hijacker.

It looked just like my ISP, it said I had to review their changes to their services before I could enter this site. It was about 3 pages long, if not more. I read it all, really didn't notice any change. I ran my virus checker, malwarebytes and boot scan, nothing came up, but my bootscan is set to automatically fix errors. Wasn't going to say anything about it but changed my mind. I had posted a video of a famous person in the news on this board and commented on a politician's scandal and wondered if either of those could have been it. It just came up that one time, I'm at a loss, been posting here since 2012 and if anyone has had a problem with what I say, they are quick to let me know.

I didn't have to submit anything, only review my ISP's terms of service. Now if it was real or not, It certainly looked real. It didn't say what I had done wrong if anything and yes during those 2 weeks I ran my virus checker, malwarebytes and boot scan so many times. I'm just at a loss. Can't figure out why it picked this site to come up on. If it happens again I'll take a screen shot.

It sounds fishy to me. My ISP has made many changes in their service agreement over the years, but they've always sent them to me by email, and I've never had to agree to anything. There has never been any requirement for me to agree to or even read the notice. They simply fulfilled their legal obligation to notify me in a timely manner. I really think you need to contact your ISP and tell them what you received and see if it's legit.

If it was legit it probably had nothing to do with this particular site. More likely it was just that your ISP randomly had the message come up and it would have kept you from doing anything on the internet until you clicked that you had read the new terms. If that's the way some ISP's are doing things now there's going to be lots of panicked users IMO.

I've never had internet service through a cable company so maybe they do things differently than AT&T.

That's very odd. You should contact your ISP and see what they say.

My ISP is linked to cable, and the phone company as well and I have never seen anything as you describe as they just send emails or things out via the postal service.

Drudge Report site owner Matt Drudge told Alex Jones of InfoWars last week that copyright laws could very well end his popular site.

“I had a Supreme Court Justice tell me it’s over for me,” said Drudge. “They’ve got the votes now to enforce copyright law, you’re out of there. They’re going to make it so you can’t even use headlines.”

If Drudge is not allowed, will copy and paste be over for posters?

This sounds like a bunch of hooey to me. Unenforceable (as described) in the short term.

Will you please answer my question as to what happened with your ISP on the popup you received during your previous visit to Zatalounge?
