![]() The house featured in the 1993 Robin Williams film has apparently suffered an arson attack A 25-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of trying to burn down the house featured in the 1993 Robin Williams film Mrs. Doubtfire. Tyqwon Eugenen Welch was arrested yesterday morning on suspicion of attempted murder, criminal threats, trespassing, arson and possession of an incendiary device, San Francisco Police Officer Albie Esparza told The LA Times. San Francisco Police reported that petrol was used to set the doormat on fire on Monday evening, but it was swiftly put out, “The homeowner smelled smoke and went to the front door and noticed the front door mat was on fire. The homeowner quickly doused the flames and contacted authorities,” Esparza said. Luckily the famous house only received minor damage, including burn marks on the front and garage doors. The house in Pacific Heights, San Francisco, gained fame after it was used in the 1993 film. It is a popular spot for tourists visiting San Francisco and turned into a memorial to Robin Williams after his death last year. It was purchased in 1997 by Dr. Douglas K. Ousterhout, who is a craniofacial surgeon who performs procedures on transgender people. http://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/someone-tried-burn-down-mrs-4940141 |
