Hello Coca-Cola No Sugar. If it's not as good (or preferably better) than CZ I'll be VERY unhappy. Coke Zero is like a drug for me. Although, I have recently become reaquainted with Canada Dry & Schwepps Sugar Free Ginger Ale. I had forgotten how much I loved G/A.Coca-Cola getting rid of Coke Zero, launching new drink in U.S. It's official: Coca-Cola is getting rid of Coke Zero. The U.S.-based soft drink giant is retiring its zero calorie drink and launching a new "no-sugar" variant in the U.S., a month after doing the same in Australia. The new soda, called Coca-Cola No Sugar, will replace Coke Zero and the company claims it tastes even more like original Coke. "We've used our in-house innovation capabilities to make the great taste of Coke Zero even better and a lot like a Coke," Stuart Kronauge, business unit president, USA Operations and senior vice president, Marketing, Coca-Cola North America, said in a press release. "To achieve this, we optimized the unique blend of flavors that gave Coke Zero its real Coca-Cola taste in the new and improved Coca-Cola Zero Sugar recipe. It's delicious, refreshing and our best-tasting zero-sugar Coca-Cola yet." The new Coca-Cola Zero Sugar will officially launch in America next week with a black color design similar to Coke Zero, which will be gradually phased out. A website already features the new tagline "Say Yes to No Sugar." Roberto Mercade, president of Coca-Cola in Australia, told The Age in June that the decision came after its parent company learned just one in two soda drinkers knew Coke Zero was free of sugar. Coke Zero launched globally in 2005, marketing primarily towards men while women skewed more towards Diet Coke. British and Australian users even dubbed Coke Zero "Bloke Coke." The Coca-Cola Company later introduced other Coke Zero flavors, as well as adding the "Zero" brand to Sprite, Fanta and other drinks around the world. Mercade said original Coke still accounts for 70 percent of overall Coca-Cola sales, so the most important aspect of the new formula was taste. The artificial sweetener used is aspartame, similar to Diet Coke and Coke Zero, but the recipe is different. According to AdNews, the change comes as more consumers have opposed sugary drinks and Coca-Cola's global sales have declined. Profits fell 55 percent in the most recent financial report released in February. http://www.syracuse.com/business-news/index.ssf/2017/07/coca-cola_coke_zero_new_drink_in_us.html Edited by Tybee, Jul 26 2017, 01:33 PM.

We stopped drinking all those soft drinks a few years ago and now drink only unsweetened fresh fruit juices sweetened sometimes with stevia, or plain sparking water. But we used to love Pepsi light (or diet pepsi in the states) |

Smart move. I only allow myself 1 caffeinated soft drink a day. That's another reason I'm enjoying the Ginger Ale, no caffeine. |

Huh... CZ was/is VERY popular in Hawaii. When Costco would stock it, there was a stampede for CZ. Even Safeway ran out now and then. I liked it. Not a big fan of Pepsi products. |

I also stopped drinking them decades ago. If I want something carbonated I just drink flavored seltzer water. Or in the summer I make terere which is cold yerba mate with fruit juice. |

I've never liked soft drinks, particularly ones with artificial sweeteners. But nothing has more sugar than fruit juices. My drug of choice is LaCroix flavored sparkling water. |

It's still got aspartame. I wish they'd use something like stevia or erythritol instead. |

the ols(malitol, etc) will cause you to make poopoo sounds/smells. Stevia is really the only OK sweetener that we know of. Edited by Erna, Aug 13 2017, 03:06 PM.

I don't know how Stevia would be in a soft drink, but I know you can't use it in anything hot. I tried it once instead of Splenda and it went horrendously bitter. Splenda melts very much like sugar and maintains its sweetness. |

There already is a soda with stevia. It's called Zevia. |

Splenda is, if we are not mistaken, sweetened with one of the 'ols', which cause one to make poopoo sounds/smells. We use Stevia in our morning oatmeal which is very hot when we eat it and it all tastes fine. The real pure stevia is available only in health food stores, not in the supermarket. Read the labels VERY carefully.[/quote] Edited by webbie to correct quote formatting Edited by Tybee, Aug 13 2017, 03:19 PM.

Splenda does not cause a laxative effect like sugarfree candy does if you eat too much of it. It's never given me the winds. |

It does if you eat a whole half-gallon of Breyer's CarbSmart Ice Cream in a single sitting. |
