'We had a great life, look after our kids': New York couple in their 50s jump to their deaths together because of spiralling financial woes

Chiropractor Glenn Scarpelli and his wife Patricia, ages 53 and 50, have been identified as the couple who jumped to their deaths from a Manhattan office building early Friday morning

In suicide notes, the couple said that they had found themselves in a 'financial spiral'

They also asked their their children, 20-year-old Isabella and 19-year-old Joseph, be taken care of

Public records showed that Glenn owed about $213,000 to the federal government and nearly $42,000 to the state in unpaid taxes dating back to 2003

Couldn't pay their taxes and student loans, but could spend $18k/year to send their 2 kids to a private school in NYC? I'm constantly amazed at the stupid financial decisions some people make.

Not much blood, is the photo real?

Two more victims of interest-banking criminals.

Probably not much blood because they only jumped from the 9th floor.

That's fucked up, and even if they did have financial woes that's no reason to KYS.

Many 'suicides' are actually something else.......especially in places like NYC and Washington!

Sadly, it is extremely rare for a fish to actually commit suicide - more than 80% of all suicides are male.

I was reading one of the reviews of their former Chiropractic business. Boy did the reviewer give those two hell. Based on what he said this guy was pretty much a disaster who didn't even known common medical terms, and did more damage to people than help.

But I agree with those who say there was probably something else going on besides simple financial reversals. As much money as they owed the government I have to wonder if they weren't about to be indicted for tax fraud.

Isn't most chiropractic just fraud?

There is really nothing physically wrong with your back, it is extremely strong and durable.

Most, if not all, back pain can be traced to psychological sources(tension, stress, etc.)

There are a few things Chiropractors can help. If you've got a joint out of alignment a good Chiropractor may be able to get you back into alignment. But many of the claims of things Chiropractic science claims they can heal are bogus. Frankly, I've always considered them just glorified massage therapists.

I had a Chiropractor tell me he could fix my 2 bad discs in my lower back years ago. Mind you, these discs had basically disintegrated and had to be replaced. There's no way any Chiropractor could have reconstructed those discs. Now I've got another one that is going bad. I don't plan on visiting a Chiropractor or a surgeon. I shan't go through that hell again.
