Will they be cancelled? Lionel Richie joins Norman Lear and Gloria Estefan saying he may skip Kennedy Center Honors over President Trump - with just TWO honorees confirmed to attend

Lionel Richie revealed on 'Today' Tuesday that he may not attend the Kennedy Center Honors due to the current mood in the country under President Trump

Gloria Estefan previously said she would like to be able to have a sit-down and discuss immigration with President Trump if she is to attend

'The Jeffersons,' 'Good Times,' and 'Maude' creator Norman Lear immediately said he would be skipping the pre-gala event over arts defunding by Trump

LL Cool J and dancer Carmen de Lavallade are still confirmed to attend the event
Cool J, the first rapper honored, made it clear he will be in attendance for this momentous occasion, saying: 'I don’t have any stunts planned'

It's nice to see at least some of them have ethics. And I'm talking about the ones who will not stand before that putrid dog Trump.

That's something said by people in the music industry who have never had a hit, and never will.

I guess all those sold out concerts Tony Bennett does all over the world mean nothing since he hasn't had a hit in decades.

OT but Lionel Richie has the most beautiful home on the golf course in BH. And he is so talented. I love his music. OK, back to our regular programming now in progress........

Yes yes yes, but I did need a ten minute nap (this place is nuts!!!) and afternoon tea. Then back to the chaos. Spent the morning waiting for Yoko Ono to come out of the Dakota so I could treat her to coffee! She stood me up. But I'm not deterred. I shall continue to stalk....err....... I mean be conveniently placed. :lol

It's a great city to visit, and a great city to get out of when it's time to go back home.

Maybe you'll run into my old pal Mr. Gge. W. Tush while you're there! Give him a big wet kiss for me. And then push him out in front of a cab on Park Ave. :lol

This is what I don't understand? Trump didn't vote these people in, right? So, how is this a Trump issue? Does he give them this award? I don't get it? Mind you, I've never seen this show so I don't have a reference.

People are nominated for the award by past award winners and the board of the Kennedy Center. The Center's Executive Committee then pic who the awards will go to. I assume the POTUS giving the awards out at the White House is just tradition. Maybe this year it's time for the tradition to be changed.

Got it. I had no idea the award was given out at the WH. Yes, time to change. Thanks.
