I love raccoons. Those are the fattest little balls of fur I've ever seen.

Here's a couple more.

Can racoons be house-broken?

From all I've heard they can. They're very clean animals. But I've also heard you can not under any circumstances just let them have free run of a house with no one around as you could a dog or cat. They're incredibly curious and ingenious and if left alone will tear a house apart trying to get into places no animal belongs.

Incredible. That dog was so cute and patient.

Here's an example of what a pet raccoon can do to a house if left unattended. And that's just minor damage.

They're like cats with hands. Overwhelming curiosity & no morals -- plus thumbs!

They are adorable. I miss those Lazy-Boy furniture ads on TV with the raccoons breaking into an unoccupied vacation cabin & kicking back (literally) in the recliner chairs, using the remote to channel surf, telephoning to order pizza..... Juvenile delinquents, complete with masks -- but so cute!

Those TV ads never made me want to run out & buy their furniture, but I surely did want to adopt a bunch of raccoons! Still do, though of course I realize it would never work out.....
