Then an hour later after his walk we noticed blood oozing slightly from his left nostril, like a month ago and for the past 5 hours he has seemed very sick, just lying there and not eating. This has happened before so we must wait and see. So it seems the tumor has started growing again.
Naturally this happens on the second day of a three day public holiday here and don't even think of asking any of those cunts, including vets, to even talk to you. The emergency clinic they don;t speak english and seem totally disinterested so we will not bother. Pepe does not seem in pain. Do we have to wait til Monday to put him down? He has been like this before and recovered.

You don't want to consider having him put down until he's demonstrating persistent pain. He's old. Some days he'll take his walk and feel fine afterwards. Other days it will wear him out. That's how arthritis works. If he's resting comfortably just leave him be and let him do what he wants to do.

He just woke up and ate the piece of beefsteak (laden with his crushed up daily pill) that we gave him! Now he is sitting up and seems better. Drank the water we brought to him. This morning he ate his usual big breakfast.

Thanks Tybee! You are a lifesaver, we have been beside ourself with worry the past few hours but now he seems better.

He just needed to rest after his walk. If he's walking up and down the stairs to go on his walk you might want to start carrying him instead. Those stairs will really put a strain on an old boy with arthritis.

We have been carrying him up and down 4 flights of stairs three times per day for a few months now. It is the cancer in his nose that was causing the nose bleed today, it seems to have subsided. He has had this before. He is definitely having some distress off and on but no cries of pain. He did eat a good dinner tonight, cleaned his plate/

We are in touch with the vet if anything happens.....
