I spent the weekend with my dear brother

He's pleased as punch that I stopped drinking, even though I've gained 20 lbs and had to buy new clothes. He told me how he worried about me, and started crying (which he knows I can't stand, so he stopped that almost as soon as he started). He expressed concern at some of my other habits (sexual) and I got a lecture on how I should find a man and be monogamous, and how he knows lots of gay guys he could fix me up with (he's sweet, but gag me). I actually think he's a bit jealous at the amount of sex I've been having lately. He's attractive and meets tons of girls, but bemoans how he always gets put in the "friend zone."

Anyway, aside from the lecturing and hand-wringing, it was a pleasant visit. He's a fabulous cook, which does not help my new-found weight issues at all. Ugh.

You're very lucky you have a good relationship with your brother.

It makes up for the non-existent relationships that I have with my parents.
