Those things were all the rage 30+ years ago. I had a huge swag one in my den in the late 70's, back when I also had big polymer grapes in a huge wooden bowl on the coffee table. Liz the lamp has a light in the top and the oil simply runs down the strings in globs and it looks like it's raining. Are they making a comeback like the lavalamps did. I have a lavalamp in storage that is at least 35 years old. |

Me too! A lava lamp, Farrah poster, bean bag chair (orange, of course) shag carpet and this. Rad memories!!!

The strings (and everything else on the tacky-ass thing) accumulates dust, which gets spewed all over the room when it's in motion. We had one when I was a kid. Oh, and I hope you don't plan on getting one if you have cats, unless you enjoy emergency trips to the vet. |

If I was going to go for something retro I'd much have the LED fiber optic lamps. At least with these you can run your fingers through them and watch them shimmer in the dark. I have one of these boxed up somewhere too. ![]() |
