My Webpage Telepictures, the syndicated arm of Warner Bros. studio, announced Monday that it will not be renewing Anderson Cooper's daytime talk show, Anderson Live, for a third season. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/anderson-coopers-daytime-talk-show-384036 |

Not surprising - who wants to watch a boring nelly old queen? |

Boring is your key word MPC, I would watch a nelly old queen if he had personality, showed some emotion. He should have watched some tapes of Merv Griffin or Mike Douglas. |

Anderson should stick to news, IMO. He doesn't have the personality or the demeanor to "entertain". Send him to a war torn country, or to the middle of a natural disaster and he's great. But watching him stammer through attempting to make uninteresting people seem interesting is painful. |

He says that he watched them live when he was a little kid -- along with Phil Donahue, whose show he wanted his to be like. I'm older than he is & I've always hated talk shows, with few exceptions: Dick Cavett's, because he often had great guests & gave them time to talk; sometimes Steve Allen's & Johnny Carson's, because they were hilarious themselves & able to bring out the best in their usually tedious guests. I love AC but I expected this show to suck & it did (apparently I'm not the only one who thought so). I'm sorry for the staff who will lose their jobs, but I'm glad for his sake that he can say he gave it a try & now move on (probably with more relief than regret). |

Bull shit AC. You never watched Donohue. You ran home from school to catch Merv, like every other little queen boy hoping his very special guest would be Zsa Zsa or Tottie Fields or Gypsy Rose Lee. Such a tedious mahu. |

#6, my little sisters watched all of those shows every day -- Griffin, Douglas, & Donahue -- & Dinah Shore, & probably others I don't recall. Like AC, they grew up addicted & watched whatever was on the box. So I believe him when he says that he watched all that shit because that's what was going on in my family's house too. |

The problem he has is that he has diluted his brand as a serious news person with all the gigglefests he's done about such foolish things as Real Housewives. I agree: He doesn't have the vivacious personality to do chat. But I also now question whether he has the gravitas to do news. |

You forget what short memories most American TV viewers have. I think if he went full time into hard line news he might get some ribbing for a while, but if he did what he knows how to do within a short time people would forget about all the giggling.

ITA Tybee about AC being good at news. He did some super stories about Katrina and BP oil spill. Especially about the dispersant used. I'm sure he can find heart warming stories in Sandy but there will also be some good muckraking stories coming forward. This is going to be "never waste a good crisis". |

He was listed as one of the most overpaid celebrities on t.v. after Chelsea Handler and Matt Lauer, so then he came out to either guilt the station or get gay viewers. Well, the gambit failed, but I guarantee he doesn't regret it anyway. I also guarantee he won't sue them for discrimination. Maybe he can get a job in the Romney administration getting the skidmarks out of Craig Romney's underwear. That's about all he's good for at this point. |
