Here's my beef with them: their prices can change almost daily. I bought three items for myself and when they arrived, I thought I'd also order them for Christmas presents. When I went back, the price had changed considerably. My neighbor says it is due to "algorythms" (SIC), ISP number and demand for that day.

Also, shipping was free on the first order, now not. Like Vegas. Luck of the draw.

I've noticed that whenever I put something on my wish list to save for later, when I go back to it the price is higher. It's like because there is interest shown they think they've got you and you'll pay more once you've made your mind up to get it. So now I always copy the item link and save it privately.

I hate mailorder with a passion, but on the few occasions I have done it it's been with Amazon. I guess I haven't used them enough to notice prices changing drastically.

One thing I have noticed is I make sure if I do order through Amazon the order is going to be filled by Amazon and not one of their "partners". Amazon usually does a superlative job turning their orders around within 24 hours. Having been in the manufacturing and distribution industry for 33 years I always have a critical eye on any business that is going to process an order I've placed. When I see "order will ship in 6-8 days", I pass them by like a tornado. If they can't get an order out by the day after order placement they're either incompetent or they're cheap and refuse to hire enough people.

Yes Indeed. I went cheap once outside the "order filled by Amazon" and it took one full month to receive and was shipped in an old Depends box. When I opened it, it was packed with 3 year old newspaper from Alabama.

Their prices do change, but if you use a site like Camel, you can see what the price range is. Here's an example - there's an $80 swing in price for this laser printer.

A sister could have a nice 'home-based' business as an Amazon 'partner'

If you put something in your Amazon cart and leave it there without buying it, you'll see the price change daily. It will go up and down anywhere from 1 cent to a few dollars.
