Love the show, been a fan since before the great war. I had a small part in one of the episodes back in the Tom Baker years. Blink and you miss me though. |

I've never been a big fan of sci-fi, so the appeal of cheap, low-budget sci-fi completely eludes me. |

If you watch that show, you are hardly in a position to patronize anyone. And if it's on TV, it's cheap. |

No offence, but you sound like some geriatric opera queen. Still not long to go i expect.

I wouldn't dream of it. Your bathroom mirror surely sees to that.

I loved it back in my youth, cheap sets and all. I rarely like the modern reincarnations of old TV shows and movies from my childhood years. To old fogies like myself new does not always mean better. I am a big fan of 50's-60's black and white Sci-Fi and horror movies (especially those made in Britain). IMO there's just no comparison between the quality of those productions and the junk full of CGI they put out these days. I think CGI either decreases the quality or completely ruins every movie or TV show it's used in, depending on how much it's used. Some movies are so packed with it I don't know why they even bothered to hire live actors. I sometimes wonder how long it will be before they develop a computer to provide the voice overs for animated movies and TV shows.

TV, in general, just does a bad job of CGI. I watched Revolution last week and the flames in a burning building looked as if they'd been created using free software. It is almost better to go for the intentionally cheesy. |
