http://gawker.com/raw-sewage-has-turned-the-hudson-into-an-antibiotic-res-848954912 In case you needed to be told again, DO NOT SWIM IN THE HUDSON RIVER. DO NOT EAT THINGS YOU FIND IN THE HUDSON RIVER. If you can afford a jetski, take it to somewhere other than the Hudson River. The Hudson River is filled with raw sewage and is teeming with antibiotic-resistant bacteria. |

I can't imagine why anyone would actually fish in a river that literally runs right through a major city. I'm sure the East River is just as filthy. I well remember the 3 years I spent in NYC there were many reports of dead bodies being found in the East River. |

I wouldn't swim in any NYC lake or river if you paid me. Sorry. |

I lived in Portland, OR for five years. That city is as green as it gets, and the Willamette (the river that splits it in two) is still one of the filthiest things I've ever seen. I can't imagine what the NYC rivers must be like. |

I thought this might be a reference to Kate Hudson's vagina. Lake Chautauqua in NY is awesome. |

We have a beautiful urban river that runs through Atlanta (the Chattahoochee). In the summer months it's literally packed with people rafting and tubing. It doesn't run right through the middle of the city thankfully so that helps keep it much cleaner than most urban rivers. But even so, there are times that warning signs go up on sections of the river due to increased pollution readings (mainly fecal coliform).

That's pretty, Tybee. The Atlanta skyline off the the distance lends something really nice to that picture. Here is the lake of my hometown over in Middle Tennessee. ![]() |

How bucolic and lovely. I would love to live on that lake with no one around for at least a mile. |
