My favorite zoo out of the ones I've been to...

That's a tough one. It's kinda stuck between the St. Louis Zoo, and the San Diego Zoo.

It may change someday, but, being dirt poor won't help that. >.<

My favorite zoo is the Bronx zoo, so many memories there. I also enjoy the flushing zoo which is here in Queens NY.

My local zoos are Brookfield, Lincoln Park and Milwaukee County, plus the Shedd Aquarium - Chicago is blessed in a lot of ways here. I've also been to The National Zoo in Washington D. C.

I would have to say for the most part, I most enjoyed The National Zoo - between the Giant Pandas, the expansive Asian Elephant habitat, and the incredible Reptile House, it left a big impression on me.

Out of the local zoos, in most respects I prefer Brookfield which has an incredibly diverse set of animals and rare species. Almost every current exhibit is biome-based, from The Swamp to the Living Coast, the Fragile Desert and Rainforest, the massive Tropic World, Great Bear Wilderness and both phases of Habitat Africa, with the only taxonomic areas left being Packyderm House, the Hoofstock Yards, and Pinniped Point.

As far as primates go though, I tend to prefer Lincoln Park, as visitors can see eye-to-eye with the gorillas and chimpanzees at the Regenstein Center for African Apes. They also have a few unique species like the rare Sichuan Takin, the Red wolf and up until recently, Sun bears. The zoo's low point is it's extremely aged Lion House, which offers some fine outdoor exhibits but has tiny lined cages indoors.

Milwaukee County is an excellent zoo in it's own right and features a great layout, though many zoo enthusiasts have pointed out much of it is unchanged since the eighties. Unique species for the area include Malayan tapirs, African elephants, Bonobos, Asiatic black bears, Cheetah, King penguins, King cobras, and various antelope species. They also used to have Koalas but they proved to oexpensive.

The Shedd Aquarium is pricey but is probably the best aquarium not located in a coastal state, featuring plenty of marine mammals, sharks, and fish of various kinds including Arapaiama, Electric eel, Alligator gar, strugeon, and a few reptiles like sea turtles, green anacondas and iguanas. It's also hosted Jellyfish, Seahorses and a Komodo dragon at one point.

To be honest I also went to the Shedd Aquarium, Brookfield, and Lincoln Park Zoo too (though I haven't been to the Lincoln Park Zoo in a while and it sounds like it had some serious renovations). The Brookfield Zoo and the Shedd Aquarium are childhood favorites which I've been to more recently (the Shedd more recently, but I was unable to view the levels below the main hall (do to a lack of money at the time, the full pass tickets were to expensive for three adults (my sister, my Dad, and me, of course).

The best zoo I've ever visited is Zoo Miami. The enclosure designs were great and I loved all of the rare species that were exhibited such as giant otters, Arabian oryxes and Asiatic black bears.

My favourite zoo though would be the Toronto Zoo (you could probably guess that from my name). I have grown up visiting this zoo and know all of the animals and exhibits in it. Even though it has some flaws, I love it and it is also the basis for many I the zoos I make in Zoo Tycoon.

From the ones I saw:
1. Leipzig (Germany) - They did a incredible rennovation the last decade and it's working. Landscapes, big-size-exhibits and interesting species... They also have their own TV-serie ;)
2. Vogelpark Walsrode (Germany) - Only birds, but wonderful ones and in one big parc. They did a great job. Even some friends of mine, who aren't much into zoos like it!
3. Churaumi-Aquarium (Okinawa-Japan), although I'm not alway okay with the tank-sizes, this was a very impressive visit. There was one big-size tank with whalesharks, dolphins, tuna, rays, sharks and more... It was incredible.

From what I heard, I would love to visit the new one in Paris and San Diego!

Lo siento por mi español, pero yo uso google translator.

The Bronx Zoo is mine, especially because of the Okapi they have.
Not sure if it counts, but the Georgia Aquarium is really nice as well.
