There are many theories on why Dinosaurs and other prehistoric reptiles went extinct. One theory is that Massive Volcanos erupted and killed them all. Though I disagree because how could a couple volcanoes cover the entire earth wiping them all out. Another theory is that Mammals competed with them stealing their eggs. I also disagree with this theory because that doesn't explain the ancient marine reptiles. Also mammals have been around since the Jurassic and never caused any real danger to the dinosaurs. Another theory is that the climate changed wiping them all out. I also disagree with this theory because the fossils show that the dinosaurs died out suddenly and climate change takes years to occur. Also another theory is that a meteor came and wiped all them out. This I agree with because it explains the rapid extinction and a crater was even found in the Yucatan Peninsula dating to the Late Cretaceous period.
So what are your theories on why dinosaurs went extinct?

To kill all life on earth, a pretty cataclysmic event would have to occur, and based on what I know of geology, for such a large volcanic eruption to occur something would need to disrupt the flow of magma - therefore I propose that a meteorite could be the trigger for volcanic eruptions making the volcano theory and meteor theory correct. alternatively a large flood could also do the trick

I think the dinosaurs are extinct becouse of a asteroid impact but maybe dinosaurs like Velociraptor and Troodon have survived 1 or 2 million years.

While I am inclined to still believe in the asteroid theory, I also believe that it was a combination of factors: the rise of mammals, climate change, tectonic shifting, etc. The asteroid was just the last straw for the dinosaurs.

I agree with you on this, the Dinosaurs survived for 160 Million Years, with some mass extinctions intermitted between the three periods of the Mesozoic. I dissagree that it was just an astroid that wiped out the dinosaurs, (though dinosaurs are still with us today, as Birds (and if you believe of the story's from the Congo about living Dinosaurs there).

Yes like you said the dinosaurs did not go extinct just because of the meteor though it was a large contributing factor. Dinosaurs where going extinct before the meteor so maybe a dieses was going through and the several other factors plus the meteor wiped them out in the end.
