Having visited more than 30 zoos in Germany, France, Switzerland, Austria, Czech Republic and Scotland, here are my favourite ones: 1. Zooparc de Beauval: one of the nicest zoos I know, combines a really nice ambience of water, trees and graslands to create smaller or bigger enclosures with nice mixed species enclosure, especially the giant pandas are a real attraction in the themed are "Sur les hauteurs de Chine". 2. Praha Zoo: I am really happy that I was there before the flood destroyed so much. Many really nice exhibits especially in "Water World" and many rare animals. 3. Zoo Leipzig: For me the best zoo in Germany with the huge tropical hall Gondwanaland and a really nice savannah exhibit 4. Burger's Zoo Arnhem: The best indoor eco displays I have ever seen, especially the desert and the mangrove building are really impressive. 5. Zoo Onsabrück: My "home zoo" that changed a lot in the last years and has now themed areas for Africa, Asia, Europe and South America, North America is planed. |

My favourite zoo is a brazilian park located in the state of São Paulo. I visit there at least once a year. the animals are great and they take animal from circus to take care of. The zoo was former known as "paraiso das aves" (birds paradise), obviously because of the huge amount of birds here is the site to anyone that wants to check it http://www.zooparque.com.br/ |

I've been to all NZ zoos, two in Auzzie (Melbourne and Taronga) and two in the UK (London and Edinburgh), but my favourite wildlife place was not a zoo- London Wetlands Centre- really enjoyed it and I think zoos should take a leaf from their book and do more to promote local natural ecosystems rather than try to recreate artifical environments that look superficially like those where the animals come from ![]() I think you appreciate wildlife more when you actually have to try and find it! But I admit most people are lazy and want all the animals laid out plain to see and up close. |

I haven't been to many, but I have seen some really good ones. 1. Honolulu Zoo: I probably won't be able to go to Hawaii again, but I have to say I would come back just to come here. Not the biggest zoo, but still has some great exhibits. 2. ZSL London zoo: Great place with recent additions like tiger territory and penguin beach. |

I have only been able to visit 4-5 zoos & aquariums in my life. The best one I've been to has to be the Ramat-Gan zoo & safari, near Tel-Aviv, Israel.
