Has anyone ever noticed the sudden change of Granny's status in terms of popularity right after she left WB? imo, it was her ex record label that made her career. |

Hmmm ... there's a thought. You'd probably get conflicting stories from all sides. |

...she seemed to lose a cohesive artistic feel to her records after she left WB that's for sure... ...starting with 'Hard Candy' - her first post-WB album - her recent albums have lacked a singular focus or consistent sound...COAD wasn't brilliant, but it had a single producer, Stuart Price, and each song blended into another like a DJ megamix... ...she should have swallowed her pride and made COAD her swan song... |

I'm sure she was afraid the world would forget her. That she & the stans would get bored & restless ... that things could get better again, for cryin' out loud. |

Madonna and pride go together like peanut butter and jelly. Not a chance.

She fell off something heavy during the Hard Candy period. I think after her induction to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, she was officially seen as a pop music dinosaur. And that reflected in what she did afterwards (the HC album was the true start where the desperation took center stage). Then when she left WB for good, it truly fell off. No one was crazy about her songs here and when MDNA came out, she tied the Super Bowl thing into it so for the couple weeks building up to the SB, Madonna was inescapable...until the album came out and performed terribly. Then came that, IMHO, ill-fated MDNA tour and I feel this tour will be just as ill-fated. |
