Reba McEntire Calls Madonna Out For Being Late To The Stage

  • Jan 19, 2016

Madonna has been in the headlines for multiple reasons over the past few weeks, including reports that she was drunk on stage at her Louisville, Kentucky concert.

Madonna went to her Instagram page to defend herself against the claims, but now she has upset her Nashville fans by showing up to her concert almost THREE hours later on Monday night.

One fan in particular was not pleased by the tardiness–country superstar, Reba McEntire. Reba was at the concert and documented the evening on her Instagram.

    [snip Reba screen captures]

The messages were short, but the frustration is read through the lines. Hopefully the country star knows to never keep her fans waiting, especially for 3 hours!

  • But still, the 57-year-old managed to kill the buzz of the Nashville crowd the same way she did to Kentucky — by getting to the stage over two-and-a-half hours late!

Being super fashionably late to her own gig isn't out of the ordinary for Madge, but audience members like Reba McEntire and Kix Brooks definitely had their patience tested — both posting about their frustrations:

Country Star Reba Slams Madonna For Starting Concert 3 Hours Late - On A MONDAY!
  • Madonna is back to her diva ways!

For her first-ever concert in Nashville, Tenn. on Monday, Madge managed to ruffle some feathers in the audience when she arrived nearly three hours late for the performance.

But it wasn’t just fans who were complaining about the “Living For Love” singer, even country star Reba McEntire — who attended the show — slammed Madonna’s bad behavior.

The famed redhead took to Instagram to bash her pop star peer, showing no mercy when it came to her tardiness.

“At the Madonna concert,” she wrote alongside a photo of the venue. “She’s not on yet…really???”

The “Going Out Like That” hit-maker kept followers updated on Madonna’s show faux pas, adding another photo later, captioned: “We’re here! Where is she???”

“She came on at 10:31,” Reba huffed on her final post.

To be fair, Madonna has had a difficult year thus far, thanks to an ongoing custody battle over rebellious son Rocco Ritchie, 15.

As Radar previously reported, trouble in paradise first occurred when the teen refused to return to the U.S. (and his mother) over the holidays, after he had accompanied her for the first half of the Rebel Heart Tour.

Reportedly angry over his disobedience, Madonna sought a court order shortly thereafter, forcing Rocco to come home.

So far, Madge has not been successful in getting her son home, as he remains in London with his father, film director Guy Ritchie.

Had no idea Reba actually liked Madonna. Wow, maybe she should've just laughed, danced, drank & blew kisses at the DJ! Gosh, she's such a crabby old lady!

(That was me being hypothetical once again after reading earlier MSN/Facebook boards)

** checks out a couple of Flea's links **

"Reba who? LMAO" - always has to be a gay boy like that in every stan delegation.

Some Madonna fans are okay, but a good chunk of them are just down right scary. Madonna could be eating animals on stage, or promote pedophilia overtly, and the fans will still defend her.

I love me some Britney Spears, but I don't agree with everything she's done!

Reba McEntire Waits for No One … Not Even Madonna
  • By Laura McClellan January 20, 2016 4:00 PM

No matter how famous you are, Reba McEntire still expects you to be on time. The country icon went to see Madonna in concert and Monday night (Jan. 18), and according to her Instagram posts, the “Like a Virgin” singer was not prompt in her arrival to the stage.

McEntire posted several photos chronicling her wait time, noting Madonna did not start her set until 10:31PM. The show was scheduled to begin at 8PM, according to the

Upon taking the stage, Madonna reportedly asked the Music City crowd: “What the (expletive) took me so long?”

McEntire didn’t post any followups to let fans know what she thought of the (eventual) performance. Instead, she continued teasing her new touching music video for “Just Like Them Horses,” dedicated to her father Clark McEntire, who passed away in 2014. The video went live Tuesday and features McEntire’s real mother alongside the artist on their family’s farm.

“Mama had to be in the video. She was and still is the glue to our family,” the star explains.
“We shot the entire video in Chockie, Okla. on the McEntire home-place. Those old hills mean a lot to me. I lived there 21 years and they still call me back time after time.”
Reba McEntire, Kix Brooks unhappy with Madonna's lengthy no-show in Nashville
  • January 20, 2016

When Reba McEntire and Kix Brooks attended the Monday night (January 18, 2016) concert of Madonna’s Rebel Heart Tour, Country Music’s fiery redhead held her ire with the increasingly late Material Girl…for almost two and a half hours. The concert was to begin at 8 pm. at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.

The delay comes just three days after Madonna denied claims that she was drunk on stage in Louisville, Kentucky. Fans were irate that the show started late...according to some -- 3 hours late.” In Nashville, as the hours rolled by and the stage was still empty, Reba and concertgoers began to show their growing frustrations with another late no-show Madonna.

Reba had almost reached her boiling point with this sort of unprofessionalism. Yet, as always, Reba is a classy lady. She refrained from the type of almost obscene posts most people would have sent after the ridiculous wait. Reba did, however, continued to share a picture of the empty stage as the hours rolled by and Reba began to post her frustration on Instagram. She even asked other concertgoers as to where Madonna might be. (Lonestar's song, “No News” comes to mind.)

Reba McEntire’s first Instagram post came during the first hour of the conspicuously empty stage, “At the Madonna concert. She's not on yet...really???” There were more empty stage pictures from Reba as Madonna is still missing after two or more hours. The next post from Reba says, “We're here!! Where is she???

Reba’s good friend, Kix Brooks, who accompanied her to the concert, echoed everyone’s displeasure with Madonna’s infuriating lateness. He posted what everyone else was thinking and probably tweeting, when he posted on social media, "10:30 - still no Madonna?? - hey, it's Nashville!! We're on time! Where the hell are you!!?" Kix wrote. Next, Reba posted that Madonna came on stage at 10:31 p.m., more than two and a half hours past the time she was supposed to show up.

Reba may have wished she had asked the attendees at Madonna’s previous weekend concert in Louisville, Kentucky. That concert was a three hour long wait…and apparently in early reports to TMZ “…and a little liquor may have been involved.” TMZ says, “Apparently a lot of fans screamed obscenities at her during the show, but in the end, the consensus seems to be that a good time was had by most.” Meanwhile, another fan reported to TMZ that Madonna “trashed talked Kentuckians and spoke in a fake hillbilly accent."

There are no tweets or posts from Reba about how she enjoyed the rest of the concert. However, two hours into Madonna’s show, Kix Brooks tweeted “On the alter! - when Madonna actually sings it's pretty bad ass!” We hope that Reba was finally able to enjoy at least part of the concert, unless Madonna pulled a Louisville performance again. If so, our beautiful Reba might have more to say.

Meanwhile, Reba’s been busy wrapping up part of her residency with Brooks and Dunn at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas last month. She’s just released her latest album, " “Love Somebody” which features her hits such as "Just Like Them Horses," and “Going Out Like That.”

The moral of the story is that no matter who you are, you don’t treat your fans like that, not in Louisville, Kentucky, Nashville, Tennessee and especially not in front of two iconic Country music superstar professionals like Reba McEntire and Kix Brooks. Take away the lyrics and meaning of Reba’s song “Going Out Like That,” the title to the song could prove to be the result.
