Thank you for posting all that and the link to the news story, Mihoshi Marie.

sex alone isn't going to cut it anymore because she's middle aged,
Middle aged women can be sexy, so I don't fault her there.

In my opinion, I think the problems are that,

1. it appears silly for someone over the age of 35 to continue dressing or behaving as though they are still 21 years old (which Madonna still does on occasion), and

2. she's been relying on sex as a major career prop for over 25 years.

It's not her age that's necessarily a problem in and of itself regarding sexuality, but that she's relied almost exclusively on sex for so long.

If Madonna had just been singing and dancing for 25 years and only just began relying on sex to sell this last album, it would not have been so bad.

But having watched her grab her crotch and writhe around like a dog in heat gets very old after five years, and yet she's been doing it for about 30 years now.

You will notice when you reach 35 years of age, especially as you get closer to 40, there is a lot of ageism out there, especially against women (but males also get hit with it too).

For some reason, 40 is regarded as being more like 120 years of age than just plain old 40, even though you're not going to look drastically different at 40 as you did at 30 or 35, but you wouldn't know that from all the snide remarks or left-handed compliments directed at 40-somethings.

You will begin noticing that the line ".... for a 40 year old" gets tacked on to the end of compliments, such as,

"Hugh Jackman looks to be in fabulous shape .... for a 40 year old [or ...for a 45 year old]"

"Halle Balle is a gorgeous sexy thing.... for a 40 year old"

"Courtney Cox has an amazing set of washboard abs .... for a 40 year old"

It's actually somewhat insulting that bloggers and the media keep doing that "...for an 'X' year old" remark, but it crops up frequently in blogs, magazines, on entertainment shows, etc. You won't notice it so much now, if you're early- 30ish, but just wait until you're 36+ years old, those sorts of attitudes and comments will stand out to you more and more.

Anyway, several other news sites have picked up the news story about Madonna being booed for supporting Obama at her New Orleans tour stop, so I'll link to those in the politics thread.

Madonna Gets Booed During Concert After Telling Fans 'Vote For Obama'
  • Madonna got booed while performing in New Orleans after telling the audience to "Vote for Obama." The singer was heckled when she asked, “Who’s registered to vote?” followed by “I don’t care who you vote for as long as you vote for Obama.” After fans started to walk out, she tried to recover by saying ”Seriously, I don’t care who you vote for… Do not take this privilege for granted. Go vote.”

That is true, Flea. So many people are starting to look good in their 40s and beyond that we really should stop considering 40-somethings to be old and whatnot. I think the quality of life we have in the Western world enables us to look fairly youthful in our 40s and 50s (as long as you take care of yourself when you're younger, of course).

Madonna, who is 55, may have an unlined face, but there is something about her face that makes her look old. Her muscular body combined with the unnatural pallor of her skin also makes her look old. I believe someone can be sexy at 40 or 50 without dressing like some 21 year old rave kid.

I also agree that it is more that she has relied on sex (and controversy) to bolster her career from day one. She has shown no sign of growth in the 20-30 years she's been in the business. It's the same old tired thing with some guns thrown into the mix this time.

Concert is classic Madonna - well, sort of

Excerpts:
  • by THEODEN JANES / The Charlotte Observer

A couple songs earlier, the singer was brought a martini by a shirtless male waiter; she took a sip, then grabbed a napkin from him and proceeded to wipe her crotch with it.

A few songs before that, she championed democracy by coaxing fans to scream “(expletive) yeah!” at the top of their lungs. Many seemed to balk, prompting her to wonder aloud, “Do people in North Carolina say bad words?”

....Unfortunately, she does not continue to make memorable music, and therein lies a problem with her “MDNA” tour.

The two-hour set list leans heavily on the new album, and only sporadically dips back into a catalog that includes some of the biggest and most beloved pop songs of all-time.

Oh, and also this from Madonnalicious.

"Sky Miles? What the Hell am I Gonna Do With That?"

Excerpt: madonnalicious reader Kevin shares his pictures and story from the MDNA show in Charlotte that took place on Thursday 15 November:

It was amazing! We bought the VIP ticket, and ended up on the THIRD row! The party was great, there was a buffet, and open bar. They were playing Madonna songs, and her Sticky and Sweet tour was playing on a big screen. We went down to our seats around 9:30pm, and Madonna did not come on stage until 11:00pm! The crowd was getting kind of angry, they started a wave that went all around the arena, clapping, chanting, etc. I think everyone forgot though when she hit the stage!

The show was amazing. My favorite part was when she sang Like A Virgin down at the end of the catwalk. She asked people to throw money on stage for the Hurricane Sandy victims. Someone threw a wallet on stage, and she was going through it. At one point, she said, 'Sky Miles? What the hell am I gonna do with that?' Also, she asked for a tissue from someone, blew her nose in it, and handed it back to them! It was awesome! Great show!

So her fans have no problem with her handing him her used tissue? :gagme: :puke: :bio: :crab4: Dumbasses! :rolleyes2:

So she's in North Carolina...or was. I live in North Carolina - had no idea the hag was going to perform here.

Die-hard fans of any given performer can be weird in that they like having the used stuff from their popstars, such as used napkins, or a donut that the performer took a bite out of. It is so gross, but some people are like that. I am surprised that a germophobe like Madonna would give her fans used tissue - I thought she didn't like that kind of stuff. Guess it appeals to her massive ego now.

The crusty hag got angry at some fans for smoking during her concert. I can understand why she'd be upset because I don't like smoking and all, but she could have been more mature about it.

Breitbart TV has the video: Madonna freaks out; threatens fans over cigarettes

Here is a transcript of what she said:

Madonna in Chile Wednesday Night

"There are people smoking right now, " the singer lashed out ... "No smoking!"

"If you're going to smoke cigarettes, I'm not doing a show."

"You don't care about me? I don't care about you. All right? Are we going to play that game? I'm not kidding. I can't sing if you smoke .. Entiendes?"

"You're looking right at me and smoking cigarettes, like I'm a stupid f**king idiot."

Ha! That video shows that a lot of seats are empty... But it wouldn't surprise me to see that it "Sold Out" since tickets were bought (maybe??) but the rain or Madonna's "I can come on stage whenever I want" attitude drove those fans away...

*EDIT: That was from an afternoon sound-check or whatever. So I guess the tour had not officially started yet... My mistake...

[VIDEO] Madonna's Concert Delayed in Cordoba, Spain Due to Power Outage
  • Posted by Jeffrey Harris on 12.23.2012

Madonna and the fans tried to keep the fans entertained though...

The Spanish website TeleShow reports that technical problems caused delays in Madonna's MDNA tour concert in Cordoba, Spain.

This was set to be the last show in her MDNA tour. A power outage caused the concert to get delayed. It was the result of Madonna's own private generator breaking down in the middle of "Open Your Heart." After the power outage, Madonna and her back-up dancers tried to keep the audience of 50,000 fans entertained for 45 minutes while the technical problems were being fixed with some dance routines and songs performed on mega-phones.

Few days ago in the news in my country they were talking about ministry of sport. What do they have in common with ManDonna?
Almost 1 year ago there was her concert in my country and it took place on National Stadium. In the news thay told that money for sport developement in Poland were spent on organisation of concert. It was even said that organisators of concert didn't have to pay for renting the stadium for 10 days. They only paid for water, electricity.
Our public money paid by all taxpayers were given to this thief and her stuff. :knock:
They gave money to this thief but they didn't want to give it to disabled athletes who won many olimpic medals for Poland. :grr: I will never ever vote on this political party again.
Backing to Stealdonna. If she did it also in another countries, there's no wonder that she grossed so much money. :knock: :grr: :knock: :grr:

It's weird how the media will still occasionally make a big deal out of non events, like Madonna trimming her toe nails will get 2 or 3 days worth of media coverage these days, but she releases a documentary... and hardly a peep.

I've only seen a small number of articles about her MDNA movie. Compare this to the early 90s, when the media could not shut up about her Truth or Dare doc.

Or, is this the same story from a couple of weeks ago, where she showed up somewhere dressed up like Dietrich? Still, it's not gotten that much attention from the media.

Madonna Debuts 'MDNA Tour' Concert Film At New York's Paris Theatre (PHOTOS)
  • Madonna held court at New York's Paris Theatre June 18, where she debuted the much-anticipated film version of her MDNA World Tour before a packed house of fellow stars and die-hard fans.

The Queen of Pop channeled Marlene Dietrich's iconic "Morocco" look in men's trousers, a tuxedo jacket and top hat. As Madonna later pointed out, it was an inspired choice (if one the star has previously embraced throughout her career) as Dietrich herself was present at the Paris Theatre's 1948 opening.

An unseasonably chilly rainstorm did little to deter the throng of die-hard fans, who huddled outside the theater for hours in advance of Madonna's arrival. Also in attendance at the premiere, which was hosted by the Cinema Society and Dolce & Gabbana, were Kelly Osbourne, Nicky Hilton, Martha Stewart, Andy Cohen and longtime Madonna pal Debi Mazar, among other celebs.

The film itself, which makes its EPIX debut on June 22, captures the dizzying excitement of the live show, from its violent opening to the much-discussed mashup of "Express Yourself" with Lady Gaga's "Born This Way," right down to Madonna's saucy "Like a Virgin/Love Spent" striptease. Although it was mostly filmed in Miami, "Madonna: The MDNA Tour" also features footage from performances in New York, Paris, London and Buenos Aires.

Kelly O. is one of Vadge's top buttkissers. And former Queen of Home Style Martha S. is now hanging out with the hag, too.

Says something about all three of them, don'tcha think? Heh.

I can't wait for the DVD to be released, so that I can see if she at least give any credits for using Abel Korzeniowski's music. I also wonder if she will give 'je t'aime moi non plus' on the album. She only sang this in Paris but the album will consist footage from there so it's possible.

A week ago or so, Epix had a free preview weekend, and the hag's concert was premiering on a Friday night. I decided to check out some of the end of it, and she was singing that stupid "I'm a Sinner" song, and the camera cut to the audience, who were mindlessly and crazily singing "I'm a sinner and I like it like that" right along with her. It was a little disturbing to me, seeing all these random people gleefully singing about how proud they were to be sinners.

I know that might not be such a big deal to someone who isn't a Christian or whatever, but it goes to show how far culture has fallen, for anyone to be proud to be a sinner.

She's apparently not giving Gaga credit for Born This Way.

Unlike everyone else who has moved on, it seems Lamedonna is still living in the past and is hoping to stir something up again.

As for the show itself I have only watched some clips and I don't intend to watch it.

I did watch that clip of Girl Gone Wild and she sounded like a chipmunk on helium and was off-key during the whole thing. Yet her fans continue to think she can sing.
