Take all the comments I made about Guy Ritchie in this thread and apply them to Man-donna:
  • Oooh, Guy Ritchie shaved his hair. He "Re-invented" himself.

    What a daring achievement!

This means he ought to appear on the major nightly news programs, on the cover of "Life," "Time," "Newsweek," and "People." :rolleyes2:

He's such a chameleon, let us stand in awe of his ability to change! :rolleyes2:

I'm so deeply impressed he did something different with his hair, the man is genius!
Changing one's hair color is beyond the grasp of us mere mortals. Madonna is the only one who can do it. She's so special and innovative.

I think she should also make the front page news and get praised for "re-inventing" herself everytime she clips her toe nails. Not just anyone can do that, you know.

Heh. Maybe I should be lauded for "reinventing" myself, too. Early last year, I had my hair dyed a dark red for about 3 months. And recently, for the past 6 months or so, I've had it coloured black. And I cut my just-past-the-shoulders length hair last month, so the ends now brush against my jawline.

Oooooo! Aren't I such a chameleon?

What, no praise? Well, I don't expect it anyway. So why should she get any special credit? Newsflash to Manny fans: ALL women have a tendency to change their hairstyle and colour. Madonna ain't special.

In the last year mine has been light blonde, black (accidentally), gold blonde, and I am going to make it a caramel this week.
It's not in good shape, but hey, I'm such a genius for mixing up some Clairol! Give me some kudos, I even own a few red lipsticks, so I can be an innovative genius too!

Did I also mention I own a eyeshadow palette that contains (totally not exaggerating here) over 50 different colours? And I have more than ten different shades of lipstick and 5 different kinds of lipgloss?

Reinvention, my ass.

And I've totally got this crazy idea now for us all to get together and have a sleepover where we can do each other's makeup...

  • UK Magazines: OK!

The current edition of UK magazine OK! (07 August issue 583) features this one page article on how to recreate Madonna's Live Earth hairstyle.

View Magazine Scan with Manny Pic
- Forget OK magazine. I'll tell you how to get Man-donna's hairstyle.

Step 1. Do not wash your hair for several weeks in a row.

Step 2. If you're a suicide blond, let your roots show.

Step 3. Stop combing / brushing your hair.

Step 4. Find a school kid with lice and rub your head against theirs.

Both her face and her hair look greasy in the photo below.

Is ageing Madonna just too fit for her own good?

HAIR-RAISING: Madonna changes hair colour almost as often as changes outfits

Celebrity hair colourist Jo Hansford, whose clients include Liz Hurley and the Duchess of Cornwall, says:

Being a chameleon is Madonna's "thing"; the constantly changing appearance has defined her for the past 20 years. But this has undeniably taken its toll on her hair.

With each image change, her hair has been stripped and re-coloured, and every time that happens it loses its natural proteins and keratins, which are designed to give it lustre and volume.

The hair follicles will also have been damaged and roughened, leaving her hair lank.

In addition, the strict macrobiotic diet, which means a limited intake of proteins, won't help.

She may not be getting enough proteins, natural oils and vitamins, and this will impact on the condition of her hair.

She is in dire need of a deep moisturising treatment.

Madonna, for reasons I don't understand, is a fan of letting her roots show through.

This might look edgy on a teenage rock star, but on a 49-year-old it just looks ungroomed.

It doesn't suit her and there's no excuse - she can afford to have her roots done as and when she needs to.

I like the golden colour she has chosen at the moment. It suits her skin tone.

However, the tousled style is in danger of looking a bit scruffy on a woman her age.

When was that greaseball photo taken?
Strange. She can have all blonde hair one month, then 4 weeks later she has 2 or 3 inches of dark hair. Hmmm, no one's hair grows that fast, esp someone who is into starvation. Could she purposely dye the top dark to show off dark roots instead of gray ones?

Give the lady the prize!

That's what she does- has someone dye her hair brown at the roots to hide the whitening new growth.

Makes her feel more virile, don't cha know.

Well that is WEIRD. Who has that much growth in a month or so? I have noticed in the past years she goes from totally blonde to three inches of growth overnight.
My hair is really dry from color but used to be oily. My roots are not oily. Hair is one or the other. Her mop is parched AND oily? Come on.
Seriously, I can see her having fake dark roots dyed on to such an extent, as if to say, "I have dark roots, see, no gray here!"
Norma Desmond II.
Nothing is real, just like the Beatles song.
Same for her boob job. When she went skeletal in the Whose That Whore days, she had no chest at all. Now she weights what, 90 pounds soaking wet, and has boobs? I'm not buying it.
Fake hair roots, just when you think you've seen it all.

Something else. That idea would also explain the odd photo we laughed at earlier this year or last, when she came out of a salon with no makeup and really trashy looking hair. We couldn't figure what she had done. Root darkening maybe?

So much for blonde ambition: Madonna lets the grey grow out
  • 13th February 2008

She's carefully reinvented her look more times than any other star, but it's unlikely Madonna's latest incarnation is at all intentional.

The singer, who is approaching her 50th birthday, revealed greying roots during an outing in Berlin yesterday.

It appears to be a rather startling oversight for the image-conscious star, whose dedication to a vigorous fitness regime - and newly shimmering complexion - has made it clear she has no plans to age gracefully.

Is Madonna Going Grey?
  • [snip before and after photos]

MADONNA wasn't looking her usual perfect-self yesterday as she made her directing debut in Berlin.

The 49-year-old star had what looked like a few grey hairs sprouting as she arrived for the Berlin Film Festival to show critics her newest project, Filth & Wisdom.

Later in the evening the singer's hair seemed to have a transformation as she dressed for a press conference.

    But what do you think?

Is the never-ageing woman finally showing some signs of true Wisdom?
Now you see it, now you don't: Madonna goes from greying to

I saw the 'Power of Goodbye' video last night and she looked so good as a brunette. Those cheek implants she's gotten since are awful - I can't bear to look at them. Her face looks softer in the pic above, but I think Sharon looks better.

MADONNA TO LAUNCH HAIRCARE LINE?

:crab4: I wouldn't buy shampoo from someone who doesn't wash her hair regularly. (See the Hair album at the Vogue Gallery)

Article:
  • MADONNA is set to expand her empire after reportedly investing in a line of haircare products.

The pop superstar - currently on her Sticky + Sweet world tour - has invested in longtime stylist Andy LeCompte's new West Hollywood, California salon and upcoming haircare line, according to reports.

A source tells US magazine Star: "Madonna sees how much Jessica Simpson made off of her hairdo line with Ken Paves, and she wants a piece of the action."
A spokesperson for LeCompte tells WENN: "I have no comment on this."
As WENN went to press, a spokesperson for Madonna had not returned calls.

I think she was probably aiming for a blonde version of the Bettie Page hair style - and failed:
