COAD: Fans will gloat

I made a prediction in an older thread, "Gwen Stefani - Pop's New Queen, Pop Beat, from SF Gate" (currently located here) that if Madonna's new record, COADF, is successful (or even lukewarm in sales and reception) that the fans will gloat about it (or about her).

Here is, in part, what I said earlier:
Quote:

I think that after Man-donna's new record comes out later this year, that the music critics who like to kiss her butt will come out in their reviews and say lofty things about Madonna, about how nobody can ever replace her, she's "still got it," she's "still the queen of pop," etc..

Fan sites such as "Madonna Tribe" will proudly quote such statements on their sites, and we'll get fans such as XXXDitaCandyPerfumeGirl posting under yet another screen name at this board to quote those sorts of statements at us, too.
I'm already starting to see examples of this behavior, such as this, from "madonnalicious.com"
  • Confessions shoots up the Amazon pre-order chart
Posted: 29 September 2005 - Thanks to Jey and Josh

For an album that is not due for release for over another month, Madonna's latest offering Confessions On A Dancefloor is doing very well in pre-orders on online retailer store Amazon - it is currently ranked at #51 in the music sales chart.
Madonna's last album ("American Life") did so poorly, the fans (and Madonna, her p.r. team, and Warner Bros.) have to hype this new COADF album more than it's worth, in order to save face.

I'm sure even the smallest of praise for COAD (should it receive any) will by hyped up the wazoo, made out to be as though it's great, lofty praise, even if it's not.

Then again, anyone can call Borders or a smiliar CD seller and pre-order a dozen, you don't have to pay for anything through some of these shops, you just tell them to put something on hold for you, and it would push up the numbers. Amazon won't let you do this, but we'll see the flood of positive reviews on that site, Madonna might order her fans to do it as she ordered them to buy up multiple copies of her Hooker Life CD.

~~ EDIT - new stuff below ~~

Her "American Life" single was so bad, her next album can't possibly be any worse.

Here is a Pictorial Analogy of what Madonna did to us all by releasing that awful rap:

~~ NEW STUFF:~~

Yes, the gloating has begun early -

As for this, I do not underestimate all of Madonna's ten fans, who snap up multiple copies of any product she releases (they have artificially driven up sales number for her other products before, why should this be any different?) buying more than one copy each of COAD:
  • Madonna #1 future best seller/pre-order on Amazon.com.

Madonna's "Confessions on a Dance Floor" is the #1 most pre ordered album at Amazon.com, followed by Depeche Mode's "Playing the Angel."

    Special thanks to Fredrick.

Here's one example, where you can see the fans have posted scan after scan about how Man-donna's "COAD" record has sold a trillion copies in France in one week's time or whatever - and similar clippings.

You'll notice you don't see COAD burning up the American charts, though.
