Hmmm ... only five figures worldwide? That's not a global impact - just a drop in the bucket. She HAS made #1 on the Italian dance charts, if I remember correctly, but that country's always been one of the strongest fan epicenters.

That article has a few holes. What do they mean by "global hit"? If they're saying 50k is a global figure (but I thought Nielsen Soundscan didn't do worldwide figures?), that's not much. 50k in the U.S., okay. But that's not "global".

Her new photo on fb with caption:
""This broken ipod is a symbol of my broken heart! That my music has been stolen and leaked! I have been violated as a human and an artist! ‪#ýfuckedupshit‬" -Madonna"
"Violated as a human and an artist"? Did that old bat seriously compare herself to a RAPE VICTIM?

Yes. Yes she did.

Madonna's deleted Instagram message

This is artistic rape!! These are early leaked demo's half of which wont even make it on my album the other half have changed and evolved. This is a form of terrorism. Wtf!!!! Why do people want to destroy artistic process??? Why steal? Why not give me the opportunity to finish and give you my very best?

Oh my God, she sounds like a 14 year old fanfic writer. "ZOMG, WHY ARE YOU POSTING MY STUFF EVEN THOUGH I PUT IT UP ON THE INTERNET FOR YOU TO SEE BECAUSE I WANT ATTENTION!!!!! HOW DARE YOU SAY MY SO ARTISTIC STUFF SUCKS!! YOU ARE BREAKING MY HEART AND YOU SUCK!!1111 *pulls fic from FFNet and flounces fandom 4ever*"

...seriously, I only just saw those articles. Madonna's not Queen of All Media like she used to be.
Several days ago, I posted links to editorials by people who explain why she is out of step with social media. I think those were posted to the Internet thread (starting around page 5 or 6 of that thread)

And then there's this (she was using social media to market her album vis a vis the terrorist attack in France, Madonna Uses Terrorist Attack in France to Promote Her New Album)

Whistleblower, thank you for that link.
(I should maybe copy this to a few other threads on the forum)

Implosion: Madonna’s Many Stunts Fail To Make People Care About ‘Rebel Heart’
  • Jan 5, 2015
    by Johnny Firecloud

Claims of rape & terrorism, snotty hashtags and early track releases don’t sway a public that appears to be entirely over Madonna.

But while the early availability of the tracks saw initial movement on the iTunes chart, they quickly plummeted out of the top 100, with Nicki Minaj collaboration “b***h I’m Madonna” currently the highest charter at number 188.

The album, set for release in March, is currently at number 38 in iTunes pre-orders and a dismal 167 on Amazon. Madonna is clearly failing in her efforts to attract a new generation of fans, while the older generation are less patient with her trend-pandering newer material.

    Artistic Rape? Terrorism? Hmmm…

“This is artistic rape!!” she cried out in an Instagram post that has since been taken down. “These are early leaked demo’s half of which wont even make it on my album the other half have changed and evolved. This is a form of terrorism. Wtf!!!! Why do people want to destroy artistic process??? Why steal? Why not give me the opportunity to finish and give you my very best?”

    Go figure

A post-menopausal celebrity-addicted former pop queen who looks like a velociraptor, obsessed with youth and trend, is having a hard time swaying a public whose BS detectors have evolved far faster than her schtick. And matters are certainly not helped when she starts co-opting iconic imagery of true heroes of the past for her own promotional agenda, in one stroke both diminishing their legacies and showcasing her own narcissistic overdrive.

    ... Rebel (Old) Fart

Speaking of hashtags, what’s cooler than a 56 year old woman desperately trying to pass herself off as timelessly young and “hip,” flipping off cameras and tagging everything under the sun with #UnapologeticBitch?

[snip Instagram photo of Madonna fallen on the snow flipping her middle finger]

Try all you like, Madonna. Between the “terrorism” victim game, the in-your-face classless tough-girl schtick and, oh yeah, terrible new music nobody likes, it’s hard to ignore the writing on the wall: You’re no longer the queen.

Israeli suspected of Madonna music leak

Madonna's Leaked Music Probe: Hacking Suspect Held in Israel
  • TEL AVIV — An alleged computer hacker has been arrested in Israel on suspicion of breaking into the computers of "several international artists" and leaking their music online, police told NBC News on Wednesday.

The 39-year-old suspect's arrest came after a complex undercover investigation by Israel's cybercrime unit and the FBI, according to police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld. He is suspected of hacking into the computers, stealing the music and distributing it online for "a fee."

Rosenfeld would not identify any of the recording artists by name. However, an Israeli private investigation firm told NBC News it had been approached by representatives of Madonna after she suspected songs were stolen from her computer. The Tel Aviv-based firm, Wizman Yaar Investigations, found that an Israeli national had carried out the hack and passed its findings onto police.

Madonna also complained on Instagram in December that some unfinished material had been leaked. A spokeswoman for the singer told NBC News by email that she was expecting to release a statement later Wednesday.

The arrest was carried out by Lahav 433, which has been dubbed the "Israeli FBI."

Israeli Man Arrested for Hacking Madonna’s Computer and Leaking Music

  • The singer called the theft "a form of terrorism"

Israeli police arrested a man Wednesday who they suspect hacked into Madonna’s computer late last year and leaked demo versions of songs from her upcoming Rebel Heart album.

A month-long investigation from the cybercrime wing of Israel’s Lahav 433, an FBI-like organization, led authorities to arrest a 39-year-old, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

A statement from Lahav 433 said it worked closely with the FBI and that the suspect allegedly “broke into the personal computers of several international artists over the past few months and stole” unreleased music that he then traded for money.

Police put a gag order on the alleged hacker’s name, though local media in Israel have begun identifying the man as a former reality show contest from one of Israel’s singing competition programs.

Madonna, who in December rushed to release six songs from the album on iTunes in the wake of the leak, called the theft “a form of terrorism.”

Similarly, Björk announced Tuesday that she would suddenly release her new album, Vulnicura, on iTunes after the record leaked over the weekend, two months ahead of schedule.

I still call BS on this. Call me crazy, but she probably seduced him in so many ways before blowing the whistle on him. Duplicity, anyone?

Then again, maybe this arrest is just a staged thing to keep the heat off the Queen & Guy Oseary.

I'll stick by my suspicions that Madge and her team purposely let this happen.
I agree that the arrest is staged and it's just another lame reason for Madge to hop on her twitter account and spurt more lies.

Israeli man arrested over Madonna hack
  • Jan 21 2015

An Israeli man has been arrested on suspicion of hacking into the computers of pop stars including Madonna and selling unreleased songs online.

Israeli police said the man was suspected of stealing work from several unnamed international stars.

A private investigator connected to the case confirmed Madonna was among them.

The pop star said she was "profoundly grateful" to those who helped arrest the hacker, and described the experience as devastating and hurtful.

"I deeply appreciate my fans who have provided us with pertinent information and continue to do so regarding leaks of my music. Like any citizen, I have the right to privacy," Madonna said in a Facebook post.

She rush-released a number of new songs last month after demos and unfinished mixes from her new album Rebel Heart made their way online

... Asher Wizman, the owner of a private investigation firm in Israel, told the Reuters news agency he was contacted by Madonna's team several weeks ago after rumours of an Israeli connection to the leak.

"Our investigator found her computers, at home and at a studio, were broken into from a computer in Israel," he told Reuters.

"We tracked down the computer, and the man behind it. After gathering enough evidence, we turned to the police and he was arrested today."

Police did not immediately name the 39-year-old man, although local reports identified him as a former contestant on one of Israel's TV talent shows.

"He is suspected of computer hacking, copyright violation and fraudulent receipt of goods," a police spokesman said.

"During the investigation it appeared the suspect had broken into the computers of a number of international artists, stole unreleased demos and final tracks and sold them over the internet."

About this guy from Israel being arrested for hacking Madonna's computer?

Google News currently has 215+ news stories about this story alone. Why?

Nobody cares that much. Why do 215 whatever news or entertainment sites find it necessary to report on this story?

This is one of the few occasions I've seen her publicly thank anyone for anything. It is notable for that.

Madonna's new album Rebel Heart: Has the final version leaked online?
  • By Lewis CornerTuesday, Feb 3 2015, 9:29am

The final version of Madonna's forthcoming new album has seemingly leaked online.

A 25-track Super Deluxe version of Rebel Heart has surfaced on the internet featuring updated and mastered versions of tracks that had previously leaked.

What's more, a handful of brand new tracks were included in the leak, as well as Madonna's collaborations with Nas, Chance the Rapper and Mike Tyson.

Rebel Heart is currently scheduled for release on March 9 in the UK and a day later in the US, but fans are calling for Madonna to release the new album on iTunes as soon as possible if this leak is indeed the final version.

The iconic star was forced to release six brand new tracks along with the pre-order of Rebel Heart before Christmas after early demos of tracks appeared on the web.
Madonna's new album, "Rebel Heart," completely leaked on the Internet
  • February 3, 2015 1:15pm

Madrid, Feb 3 (EFE).- Madonna's latest "Rebel Heart", her 13th studio album, has been completely and illicitly leaked over the Internet, a month and a half before its intended release date.

Several websites offer listeners the chance to hear all 25 songs that make up the "super deluxe" edition the American pop diva was set to release on March 10.

She was forced to hastily record final versions of six "demos" from "Rebel Heart" that leaked onto the internet last December: "Living for love", "Devil pray", "Ghosttown" "Unapologetic b***h", "Illuminati" and "b***h, I'm Madonna", the latter recorded with Caribbean singer, Nicki Minaj.

How many songs does she have for this album???

Madonna’s ‘Rebel Heart’ Album: Even More Demos Have Leaked Now For Songs Previously Unheard
  • By: Robbie Daw / February 17, 2015

It’s hard to pinpoint just how many songs have leaked from Madonna‘s Rebel Heart project since November — an album that, mind you, isn’t even officially released until March 10 — but know this: More tracks are still popping up online left and right.

The leaks began around Thanksgiving, when rough demos for “Rebel Heart” and “Wash All Over Me” surfaced on the Internet.

That was followed in December by two separate leaks of a combined two dozen songs ahead of Christmas, which prompted Madonna’s team to offer up six finished Rebel Heart songs (including single “Living For Love”) on iTunes as part of an album pre-order.

A culprit in the breach of Madge’s music was apprehended by authorities early in the new year, but even still, early February brought the leaking of the entire finished deluxe edition (25 tracks) of Rebel Heart, five weeks ahead of the album’s official release date.

One might assume that would be the end of Madonna’s woes, but, no — nearly a handful of demos made their way online overnight for songs that do not appear to have made the cut for Rebel Heart.

Unfinished versions of songs like the playful sports metaphor “Score,” slightly housey “Never Let You Go,” guitar-and-dance-beat-driven “Alone With You” and funky synth groove “Trust No b***h” are now out there to be found.

Not to worry — Rebel Heart is really fine as is, without these added in, though “Never Let You Go” is a particular highlight from this batch.

She probably recorded like 100 songs or some mess like that for the album. And I agree, this whole thing is just an attempt to bring more attention to Madonna. They can't let the "music" speak for itself... ask Ariel Pink about the attention he got from Madonna "beefing" with him because they initially decided to work together before Ariel said Madonna was too mainstream for him or whatever he said lol

I think there are too many songs on that album. That's cool but if any music artist put so much material in every release like M did with RebelHeart, and it could be a wish come true for many people out there, I'm sure 90% that record is nice and "boring" too. I think 14-15 songs were enough on RebelHeart, around 50 minutes or more: what a pop album used to be, ..so why did she need to do that? ^o) somehow all this reminds me of The Fame Monster "Deluxe Edition" release :-/ : 16 tracks from The Fame plus 8 tracks from the Bonus EP. but that was something different that it has nothing to do with this.. :ermm:
:D :)
