I was thinking about this whole fascination she has with the Hitler Youth, and remembered something else.
She would have killed for the Evita Peron part.
I can see the similarities, Peron was a dark haired slag who slept her way to power after bleaching her hair and being unsuccessful as a movie star, used people, stole money from charities, and claims to love the poor while shoving her money in their noses.
Many have accused ol Eva herself of being a fascist. This is from an article..
"Evita had her critics as well, though, who saw her as an opportunist who used Perón as a way to gain power and wealth, who used the money she raised for charity for her own gain, and who flirted with fascism."

Actually, it’s a known fact that both Eva Peron and her husband were huge admirers of Adolf Hitler. And it wasn’t until the 1950’s before they toned it down. Plus everyone knows that Argentina was a haven for Nazi war criminals.

That's why I don't understand why there wasn't any outrage over the musical. I guess that part of history wasn't very well known.

Here's the perfect role for manny: Eva Braun. She could talk Michael Moore into producing it and playing the lead.

I don't know, Eva was pretty complacent to her number one Nazi boyfriend. I could see Manny playing a convincing role as the woman who terrorized concentration camp victims, they called her the B---- of Buchenwald. Can't remember her real name.
She can do like Kabbalists and blame the Jews for their own murder because they weren't buying the Zohar.
A role like that might get her her first Oscar. Plus she can parade around in a black leotard and hose with a helmet. Maybe Sting or Geldof can write a song for her and make it a musical. Moore can direct. Cannes will no doubt love it since so many of them were Nazi sympathizers during WWII. Hey, she can call it "My Little Vichy is Itchy for You"
Her fans can go gaga for her creativity in bringing Nazi/SS fashion into vogue.

Her name was Ilse Koch. Her husband was a guard at Buchenwald and she liked tempting the male prisoners. She'd stand in front of them fondling her breasts when they had to march by or were in her presence. If they were caught looking at her they would be savagely beaten. Plus she liked beating and torturing the prisoners herself as well.

Oh yeah, Madonna would be perfect for that role, she wouldn’t even have to act. The funny thing is, she’s so desperate to be in any movie, she’d probably accept the part if she was offered it.

It’s interesting you should mention Geldof. There’s a song he wrote that’s on the Boomtown Rats album, A Tonic for the Troops called “I Never Loved Eva Braun”. Musically speaking, it’s a great song, but as for the lyrics…well, let just say they’re a bit dicey. He wrote that song a long, long time ago, I think it's dated 1978. I think he's grown up a lot since then. (Well, sort of. I’d think a lot higher of him if he’d quit cavorting with Stinky.)

One of the tactics that fascists use when overthrowing a government is to bombard radio stations with propaganda, particularly by expressing same message over and over again, which eventually sways much of the population. I've noticed the same thing when Madonna promotes something. One Seattle radio station played nothing but Madonna songs for 48 hours straight when she released a new album. The music video stations have Madonna-thons, she's all over the entertainment news shows, etc. Last night I heard her new song playing during an ad for CSI. I'm so fed up with it. It's an annoying song and completely unoriginal. Time goes slowly when listening to Madonna's new song.

I could SO see Manny doing that. Only she'd have a crucifix dangling in her cleavage and she'd be yelling, "Is my necklace straight"?

I could see it too!

As for MADdonna Sickoney's post - I get what you're saying, Madonna's marketing campaign does feel more like a propaganda push than, well, a marketing campaign.

I had some errands to run the other day. I didn't see any hype for Madonna's new record at the new Wal-Mart, thankfully (but then her CD doesn't get shipped until Nov. 15, right?).

When I dropped by the Best Buy after going to Wal Mart, they did have a huge banner with Madonna's photo on it, but it was a promo pic from the "Ray Of Light" CD.

On the bright side, I had been in the Best Buy store, for geeze, an hour or more looking over the music department, before I even noticed the huge, honking Man-donna banner. Maybe I've trained my brain to tune her out, or it's my brain's coping mechanism?

The full concert review was placed in the "COAD reviews" thread. This is from a British reviewer.

I didn't realize until I saw this review that Manny has Nazi-like imagery in this tour (I already knew about the image of Hitler, but I'm talking about the other things).

.... And herein lies the problem with this show, and Madonna's career in general: it's filled with crass, fatuous, mindless symbolism but precious little meaning.

Tonight we see Jewish and Arab "blood cells" intermingling with yin and yang signs, we see the daft Kabbalah band round her wrist, we see dancers goose-stepping and Nazi-saluting through "Ray of Light", we see a montage of Hitler , Nixon, Mao, Bush, Bin Laden and Blair (the prime minister is actually cheered, which tells you plenty about the kind of people who'll stump up £160 to watch Madonna).

I don't get goose-stepping through Ray of Light. What would those lyrics have anything to do with Nazi marching?
Of course we all get the Nazi-Bush-Blair-Hitler crap.
I'm surprised she had the guts to equate Bin Laden with Nazism.
Hope some Muslim kid was at the show!!

Surprised?

MISTRESS OF NAZI SPIN

The femaile creator of Nazi propaganda films died, and attempts to bring her story to the screen are still being undertaken by Jodie Foster- with Mandona possibly in the role. Both Mandona and Foster began trying to seal the deal for over ten years now, but the elderly Nazi propagandaist felt neither one of them was good enough
to portray her (Sharon Stone, whom she wanted in the role, recieved a fawning letter from her).

Why either Foster or Mandona would want to glorify the woman responsible for helping brainwash Germans into killing millions of Jews, political prisoners, and civilians in other countries, is a mystery.

Of course, the propagandist claimed she was a victim- but that was a lie.

Strange, isn't it?

I'm not surprised. She's been fascinated with Nazis for some time now. Perhaps she likes the domination aspect, or gets a buzz off of humiliating and torturing people. Ask her fans.

I guess since it's a very controversial project, she'd love anything controversial. She knows it will get press coverage.

Can this get any worse???
I just watched a documentary about Leni Refensteil.....she lived to be almost 100 (well, Madge won't need any makeup to make her look older  ). However, Leni Refensteil was educated and evil; Madge would screw up the whole portrayal like her order to take all the "bad stuff" out of the script of "Evita"....grrrrrrr
When in the world is someone gonna tell this moron she can't act????????

Let's just hope Man-donna sticks with her promise of no more movie roles. She said not too long ago she wants to give that up and just direct.

On a related note...

I have excerpts from a web page somewhere on the Anti Madonna site by a guy who raked Madonna over the coals for having portrayed Eva Peron in Evita, wherein he suggested that Madonna is a little too sympathetic to Peron. I can't find the link at the moment.

Born in Berlin in 1902 into a working class family, Riefenstahl grew up to be an attractive, athletic and fiercely determined young woman. She sought public attention as a dancer but a leg injury forced her to consider film acting. Her screen debut was inauspicious. In his engrossing Leni: The Life and Work of Leni Riefenstahl, Steven Bach reveals that Riefenstahl first appeared in the box-office sensation Ways to Strength and Beauty, a blue film in which she played a bare-breasted handmaiden. In 1924, she vamped her way into a meeting with director Arnold Fanck, father of the Alpine film. Fanck was soon infatuated with Riefenstahl, and gave her leading roles in his mountain movies. Shot on frozen slopes and icy pinnacles, these pictures required strength, endurance and daring of the actor. Amazingly, Riefenstahl performed all her own stunts. Ever ambitious, she coaxed Fanck into teaching her directing, camera work and editing. In 1931, she directed her first film, The Blue Light.

Madonna sees herself in Riefenstahl, obviously.

Madonna Vogue Magazine 2005 Interview [Mentions Hitler Youth Poster]

Excerpt:
  • On the mantel [in Madonna's house], nestling between a brace of glamorous Francis Picabia portraits, is Kahlo's traumatic My Birth. "She's a bit shocking, that one," says Madonna, who clearly does not shy from unsettling images.

Elsewhere in this room is Helmut Newton's photograph of a perfectly groomed glamazon with a large gun in her mouth, and on an art tour of the house, Madonna points out the photographer Collier Schorr's life-size portrait of a beautiful flaxen-haired boy in Hitler Youth costume.

"People don't know what to think when they come here and see this photograph," she tells me. "I'll let them be... confused."
