See Also: Radio Related / Lame Fan Petitions thread Source: Drowned Madonna This is just disgusting. This whole thing keeps screaming: buy! buy! buy! They even encourage fans who've already bought a CD to buy more copies to drive up the sales figures. I shouldn't be terribly surprised, since when I first began work on the Anti Madonna site in 2003, they were doing the same thing for American Life. Why does Madonna need this much help to get a CD to #1 on the charts? If these are true fans, why not let nature take its course, why don't they sit back and see how the CD does on its own?

You know, I’m starting to believe her fans are part of a cult. They certainly act like cult members. What’s next, campaigning door to door to get people to buy her new album? Maybe stand on street corners handing out pamphlets? |

They are. Not the "cult of celebrity", but the cult of Man-donna. Her fans should be a new diagnosis in the DSM-IV (or whatever the current version is). The amount of rationalizing and denial that exists in these people is truly frightening. As a joke: We here at {insert Madonna fansite} encourage you to cash in your life savings, buy up multiple copies of every Madonna product you can get your hands on, send her checks in the mail, and spend every minute that you're not purchasing her stuff plugging her name into search engines to artificially inflate her popularity. When you lose your house and your car, etc., disown your family as "haters" and spend the remaining days of your ailing life following her around, capturing molecules of air from spaces she has just occupied. When you die, make sure your headstone has been pre-ordered to include her name somewhere on it, as your sole inspiration for living. |

**looks at pic of neon pink groupies** MY EYES!!!! Anyway, don't they look a little...childish? I mean, I guess that outfit would work on a 7 year-old gymnast (in an actual gym, mind you, and not--let's say--in the middle of a public street in broad daylight). But I'm assuming these are women?? |

The funniest thing about that photo? Those young ladies were probably paid a fee by Madonna's or the record company's p.r. team to dress that way. It was probably a staged event. What I find hilarious is that I remember back in Madonna's hey-day (1985), some young ladies (referred to as "Madonna wanna-be's") were dressing up like her for free. |

Ah, a Gwen Stefani rip off ![]() 1NF: your tombstone idea, :good:I just read somewhere the other day that you can get musical photos to put on tombstones. Who wouldn't want a Madonna photo on their grave warbling to the tune of American Life, "Yo they say I'm a trooper and I'm super dooper, I love my Mini Cooper" -? (It would at least keep the pigeons off your tombstone )

Ugh...this disgusts me so much. I don't watch TRL either, but I remember when groups like NSYNC and the Backstreet Boys had their videos on. They usually had the number one video, videos retired, etc. I didn't see what was so great about those videos that they deserved to be number one ALL THE TIME. I never knew that people could vote as many times as they wanted. I don't think that's very fair. It should be kept to one vote per person. |

Amreicans, especially teens and the ones running hte cable channels (perhaps the same ones) have very ignorant and short spans. Ever notice when MTV or VH1 does a Greatest Videos of All Time load of rubbish, the number one video is usually something quite new from a current star? People like Madonna fans and other low grade, teeny types seem to think that there was NO life on earth before, say, 1990. No movies were any good, no TV shows (hence they only will watch remakes) and God knows, no good music before rap, hiphop, and Britney. |

Oh no, Madonna's video has slipped from #1 to #2. From Drowned Madonna
I know. Even when I was a kid, I enjoyed learning about entertainers and music that had been made before I was born. Just because a song is old doesn't automatically make it horrible. I also like some old movies and some old t.v shows. |
