Is this Madonna's way of telling her fans they need to get drunk before being able to listen to her music? :ask:

Madonna Releases New Wine Range
  • Madonna is set to launch her own range of wine to accompany recent album 'Confessions On A Dancefloor'.

As if being a pop star, a children's author and sometime actress isn't enough, the star is set to release a series of wines bearing artwork from her recent release.

Wines featuring Madonna's image include a Barbera, a Cabernet Sauvignon, a Pinot Grigio along with a "de-alcoholized" red table wine.

According to the distributor Celebritycellars.com write-up, Madonna has "made a career out of constantly evolving artistically and defying convention. Finally there is a collectable as complex and sophisticated as the artist herself".

The wines are set to be shipped to American drinkers via the website early next year.
As for this part of the press release or article or whatever it is -
  • According to the distributor Celebritycellars.com write-up, Madonna has "made a career out of constantly evolving artistically and defying convention. Finally there is a collectable as complex and sophisticated as the artist herself".
My reaction to that is -- :bad:

Anything to do with her dad's winery?
Are the grapes smashed with Kabbalah feet?
If she wants to market something true to her non-existent disco roots, and to match a disco CD, why not just market cocaine?

I was wondering the same thing. Is this her Dad's wine or is she trying to stick it to him yet again?

The few articles I saw didn't make it clear. It only mentions that the distributor is Celebritycellars.com but not where they got it from.

Celebritycellers?! Oh the jokes we could get..
I hope Rosie O'Donnell never does a Penny Marshall-flavored wine...
Yoko Ono might make one where, when you pop the cork, shreaking sounds come out of the bottle..
Angelina Jolie's wine? Don't let a woman open it, she will automatically run off with your husband after a sip..
Jessica Simpson's tastes like Chicken of the Sea...
Posh Spice wine? Not! The bottle is just full of air...
OK, enough..

Kinda makes me wonder what Madonna wine would taste like.

Or maybe I don't want to wonder about that, on second thought.

Maybe for a truly authentic experience, it would taste flat, just like her singing sounds (lame pun, sorry).

Yup, flat with no body. A little fruity. Buy it newer, as it doesn't age well either.

Wine created based on new Madonna album
  • 12/27/05) - When it comes time to celebrate, now you can uncork a bottle of Madonna. Celebrity Cellars in Napa Valley, California, has created a line of Madonna wine based on her "Confessions on a Dance Floor" album.

The wine comes in Cabernet Sauvignon, Barbera and Pinot Grigio, as well as "unwine" -- red table wine with the alcohol removed.

The price ranges from $25 to $40. Details can be found at www.CelebrityCellars.com. ....

...wow, really CHEAP wine, like it's namesake!
Oh, what's Madonna's favorite wine?
"Guuuuuyyyy, get me a new f***ing Versace jacket!"
Whine, get it?
Hey it's late..

Funny slams taken from some article about this dumb gimmick:
Quote:

Normally, when you hear "bottoms up" and "Madonna" in the same sentence, you probably think of, say, page 57 in Sex, not Pinot Grigio.

But it's true, the Material Girl is seeking to drive fans to drink. To celebrate her latest chart-topping album, Confessions on a Dancefloor, Madonna has teamed with Celebrity Cellars for her own signature line of wines.

I can't look now, but is page 57 where she's picking her @sscrack or hanging bottomless over a wall (hopefully in the middle of nowhere)?

Uh... that would be the one with her riding the bicycle in the bunny-tail thong. The picture on the opposite page is the one of her hovering over the dog.
