Okay, we already had a thread about Madonna attending the Gaultier fashion show, but I thought this very negative article - about how haggard she's looking these days - was worthy of its own thread.

Photo is at bottom of post.

The Changing Faces of Madge - from The Mirror
  • Fiona Cummins In Paris

EVERY year, a new Madonna - and you don't work that kind of magic without hard graft.

But in Paris yesterday there were serious concerns that the Material Girl's gruelling fitness regime was beginning to work against her.

For years, her athletic physique and sense of style made her the envy of women the world over.

But the 47-year-old mum of two was showing all the signs of a face and body pushed too far and too hard as she arrived in Paris for a fashion show by French designer Jean Paul Gaultier.

Her skin was stretched taut across her razor-sharp cheekbones, and her chin was puckered in a most unflattering manner.

To make matters worse, it appeared that Madge also has the beginnings of a receding hairline.

A fellow guest at the show said: "She looked pretty rough. Madonna usually looks so groomed, so it was a bit of a shock to see her so ropey."

The Pop Queen's punishing exercise regime lasts for at least three hours every day beginning with an hour in one of her home gyms.

She eats a macrobiotic diet - consisting mostly of whole grains and vegetables. Breakfast is vegetable soup and fresh organic fruit juice.

After breakfast she has a one-hour Pilates session, then it's lunch - steamed vegetables, tofu, pulses and lentils.

Her afternoon exercise comprises at least another hour's workout - swimming, weight training and karate or a 10-mile run.

Dinner, again, is macrobiotic with lots of fresh vegetables, lentils and pulses.

Even when she retires to her office or studio it doesn't stop - a step machine ensures she's always on the move. Hard work that seems to be taking its toll...

But tomorrow is another day - and probably another Madonna.
This one is also in the "Looking Unattractive, thread #2" thread:
