Gwyn takes indirect jibe at Madonna
  • Apr 17 09

Washington (ANI): Taking an indirect jibe at Madonna, Gwyneth Paltrow
has posted an obscure message on her website Goop.com in which she has blasted a former pal, whom she called 'frenemy', for turning against her.

Although the actress has kept the name under wraps, gossip-mills are running as to whom she’s referring to as 'frenemy'.

"This person really did what they could to hurt me. I was deeply upset, I was angry, I was all of those things you feel when you find out that someone you thought you liked was venomous and Dangerous. I restrained myself from fighting back. I tried to take the high road,” Contactmusic quoted Paltrow as writing in the online newsletter.

She added: "But one day I heard that something unfortunate and humiliating had happened to this person. My reaction was deep relief and…happiness. There went the high road.

Signing off, Paltrow asked the readers: "So, why does it feel so Good to hear something bad about someone you don't like?"

I really don't care about these sort of news stories, but I know if I don't post this, inevitably someone else will, so I might as well.

The only remotely interesting thing about this is that she's snubbing her own brother, Christopher, who works as a professional interior designer, to hire Paltrow, who is just a movie star.

Madonna Hires Gwyneth As Her New Decorator

Paltrow Turns Designer for Madonna
  • June 18 2009

MADONNA has signed up an A-list interior designer to help kit out her adopted daughter MERCY's new bedroom - best pal GWYNETH PALTROW.

The Material Girl was given the green light to take home Malawian tot Mercy James on Friday (12Jun09) after judges in the African country decided to approve her adoption appeal. Her bid had initially been rejected in May (09).

And the pop superstar is keen to lavish her family's new addition with gifts - and has roped in fellow mum Paltrow to help decorate the four year old's room at Madonna's New York townhouse, according to Britain's The Sun newspaper.

A source tells the publication, "Madge wants Mercy to feel like a little princess when she arrives.

"Gwyneth has a home in the Hamptons area of New York and Madonna was so impressed with her daughter Apple's room that she asked Gwyneth to help her kit out Mercy's new bedroom.

"As well as all the items inside, she's also commissioned a mini Georgian-style treehouse for Mercy and David in her garden."

Madonna looks awful in the photo on this page:

GWYNETH AIN'T YOUR PALTROW MADONNA
  • 1 Mar 2010

It feels like ages since we’ve had a good celebrity feud to salivate over.

But it seems the normally mild Gwyneth Paltrow has decided to kick one off – and with Madonna of all people.

The movie star clearly wants to make her spat with the Queen of Pop a big deal.

Instead of just releasing the odd bitchy whisper, Gwyn, 37, has gone one better and has taken the feud global.

The Hollywood babe posted a message on her website Goop asking for help on what to do “when you don’t like a friend any more”, before saying spending time with some friends can leave you “drained, empty and belittled”.

Chris Martin’s leggy missus has been besties with Madge, 51, for years, but has distanced herself recently after a row over their personal trainer Tracey Anderson.

    Kicked
Gwyn has frequently gushed about Tracey in the past, saying things like: “She has kicked my formerly sagging ass into shape. I will be forever grateful to her.”

But things started to fall apart when Tracey was reportedly fired by Madge last year for refusing to go on her world tour.
A source said: “Madonna had a series of dramatic fall-outs with Tracey but Gwyneth refused to take sides, which annoyed Madge.”

Gwyn spouted: “What do you do when you realise that although you may have years of history, and found real value in each other, that you don’t like a friend any more?”

Ms Paltrow has obviously taken sides with Tracey.

We can’t wait to see how Madge responds. But for Gwyn’s sake, let’s hope she uses the internet too rather than her manly guns.
Is Madonna Insufferable? Ex Best Pal Gwyneth Paltrow Thinks So

~Hmm, okay, but I gotta disagree with parts of the opening lines:
  • Madonna is a talented artist whose career has spanned decades. Even in her 50s she continues to attract headlines and attention to her music, her movies and her love life.
Here's the rest:
  • But as a friend she [Madonna] is insufferable, suggests Gwyneth Paltrow.

Paltrow posted a message on her website Goop last week asking visitors for help on what to do "when you don't like a friend any more". The "friend" she has gone cool on is Madonna.

The two used to be BFFs, with Gwyneth comforting Madonna through her divorce last year. But Paltrow hinted at a fall-out last week when she mused that spending time with some friends can leave you "drained, empty and belittled".

The reason for the fall out? The pair have rowed over their personal trainer Tracy Anderson, whose business has been accused of financial irregularities. Madonna has dumped the trainer, while Gwyneth has refused to take sides. Don't cross Madonna!

But this isn't the first time passive aggressive Gwyneth has taken a swipe at a rival/pal via the web. Last year she branded Winona Ryder a "Frenemy."

It seems it may be worth reading her dreadful macrobiotic website after all.

Gwyneth Paltrow Talks Smack About Madonna! And They Just Had Dinner Together

Gwyneth Paltrow Hates Madonna?
-although whomever wrote the above blog page rags on Paltrow for being upset with Madonna, so I link to it somewhat reluctantly

Rumors of Anger with Madonna Trail Gwyneth Paltrow

Gwyneth Paltrow admits vengeful nature, Madonna feud
  • [HMG] – On screen, the divine Gwyneth Paltrow exudes an air of peace and tranquility, but in a new interview in the British version of Vogue this vision of stillness reveals she can be quite a b***h;

“Oh yes, I can be mean. I can cave in to gossip, and I definitely harbor revenge,” she told the UK’s Telegraph. “I’ll wake up and think, ‘Ugh, I feel terrible,’ and suddenly realize why – I’m holding on to so much hate.”

    Gwyneth admits the few ill-advised beings who cross her inspire feelings of hatred and a lust for revenge; And fame doesn’t save you, as she reveals;

“I’m having a situation right now with a friend where I’m feeling pretty angry. But revenge is corrosive and it doesn’t make me feel good,” she told the scribes.

That ‘friend’ is Madonna, who employed Gwyneth’s business partner, Tracy Anderson as a personal trainer.

“It’s good that she doesn’t train Madonna anymore,” Gwyneth admits. ”She keeps people waiting – it takes up your whole day,” Gwyn explained.

Married to Chris Martin from Coldplay since 2003, Gwyneth now plans to add Yoga to her resume, opening a studio with Tracy in London later this year. The 37-year old actress even credits Tracy with helping her lose 20lbs since the birth of her son, Moses on April 8th of 2006.

Madonna has to fight through heavies to get to Gwyneth Paltrow
  • By Katie Nicholl

Madonna has to get through a team of security guards before she can have an audience with her old pal Gwyneth Paltrow these days.

The pair were at the dinner thrown by Diane Von Furstenberg at Claridge’s last week.

‘Madonna’s entourage made their way to talk to Gwyneth but her people didn’t recognise the singer, whose face was hidden by a fedora,’ says a guest.
‘There was a huge scrum leading up to Gwyneth’s table that was guarded by four minders. Madonna was grabbed by one and nearly marched out. He only let her go when someone screamed, “It’s Madonna!” ’

When they did eventually get to meet the girls – above – were all smiles for the cameras.

Friends or frenemies? The Gwyneth/Madonna saga continues

So, have they fallen out or not? Gossip about the state of Madonna and Gwyneth's friendship certainly shows no sign of ending.
The latest upset in the saga? The fact the two former best pals watched Jay-Z's performance at this weekend's Wireless festival from separate VIP boxes. Shocking! Headline-worthy? We're not overly convinced, although that hasn't stopped the speculation with several papers accusing Gwyneth of ditching Madge in favour of Beyoncé - who was also at Wireless to see husband Jay-Z on stage.

Given the pair were cosying up for the cameras just a fortnight ago at Diane Von Furstenberg's Claridge's do, we reckon it's a little too soon to totally write off the friendship, although maybe Madonna needs to brush up on her dancing moves if she doesn't want Beyoncé taking her place on those girls' nights out.

I don't visit that site much, so I'm not familiar with their terms and nicknames.

Why do they keep referring to GP as "fish sticks" and "goopy?" (Or, if it's vulgar, maybe I don't want to know.)

LOL---no worries, it's all G/PG-rated stuff...

Apparently, after meeting her for the first time, Ted Casablanca observed that Gwyneth Paltrow was as cold and bland as fishsticks ....

...Michael K of dlisted has always used this term when referring to her...

As for 'goopy', he started using that term after Gwyneth launched a website actually called GOOP that's chock full of 'lifestyle' advice...for the privileged...

http://goop.com/

...I must concur with the dlisted posters...I have always found this woman insufferable...no surprise that she hung out with the MOST insufferable woman on Earth for so long but it looks like that's over now since you never see or hear of madonna and Gwyneth together anymore...

When I saw the goop site linked to at Dlisted and clicked on it... I did not think it was Paltrow's site.

I thought someone just linked to it as a joke.

They linked to the cheese page on the site.

I see from one of her pages that she's an Ina Garten fan. Ina Garten is very pretentious.

After skimming over GOOP's "Be" page, I can see that Paltrow is most certainly not a social conservative (and I most definitely am), so she and I would not see eye to eye on most topics.

Oh man, - this -
  • "As a woman who was raised in a society where it is implied that women should be agreeable and amenable, where speaking up for yourself can label you 'difficult', I personally have found it difficult to do that very thing. Why is it important to have personal boundaries and make sure they are not crossed? More importantly, how can we keep them while coming off strong and not strident?"

    Monica Berg replies:

These are great questions, and we can best answer them by zeroing in on the first issue you raise, the inhibiting effect that society & upbringing have on our spirit, and consequently how we feel about ourselves and what we deserve.

Women are, by nature, caregivers. We have a great capacity for compassion and mercy, and as young girls we are brought up to nurture and take care of others. Most of us learn to become excellent multi-taskers.

But at some point we get the message—sadly enough from our own parents or peers—that we need to excel at everything. Academics, career, mind, body & spirit—and we’re expected to keep it all in perfect balance.

...In addition, in order to create clear boundaries and feel comfortable with who we are, we need to have compassion for ourselves. If we cannot give & be kind to ourselves, we can never love ourselves enough to believe we deserve to be unconditionally loved, truly heard & treated with human dignity.

The result of not creating this compassion for ourselves will be that we don’t think we deserve enough of anything.
- but she was friends with Madonna for years?? Madonna was all about Madonna, not showing "compassion" to people.

Edit. But I see the last half of Berg's message above was that women should love themselves first. It figures someone like Madonna would be drawn to the Berg's teachings, if she's (Berg's) stressing self-love.

I get that a lot of women have problems with loving themselves, they have low self esteem, and feel guilty about getting their own needs met, and they need to hear it's okay to do all that - but I don't think someone like Madonna has ever had those issues.

...I've heard some good things about Gwyneth's website...and her cookbook has been getting good reviews, but I cannot for the life of me indulge anything this woman puts out there knowing that she was so close to madonna for all those years...

...classic case of guilt by association...

Paltrow dumps Madonna for Diaz
  • By Mail Today Reporter
    PUBLISHED: 18:44 EST, 22 September 2012
    | UPDATED: 18:45 EST, 22 September 2012

Even though they have been pals for over ten years, Gwyneth Paltrow is going to take some time away from the 'Material Girl'.

'Everything always revolved around Madonna,' a Paltrow source told Us Weekly. 'She is finally done.'

The Avengers starlet, 39, will be focusing on her other A-list friendships… enter Cameron Diaz, 40.

And even though Paltrow and Diaz have been friends for years, she has recently turned her into a closer confidante. 'Gwyneth is a nurturer,' the source explained of Chris Martin's wife. '(Cameron) is bummed about being single, so Gwyneth sees her as a project.'

Apparently, Paltrow – who's been married to the Coldplay frontman for six years - is making it her mission to find Diaz a man.

The What to Expect When You Are Expecting actress was most recently linked and had an on-off-again relationship with New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez, who famously broke Diaz's heart. - entertainmentwise.com

Gwyneth Paltrow is NOT happy about Beyonce's friendship with Madonna: Actress 'kicks off' about music video cameo

Beyonce and Gwyneth Paltrow fall out over Madonna
  • The 'Drunk in Love' hitmaker is reportedly in Gwyneth's bad books at the moment as she's been growing close to her former best pal Madonna after appearing in her latest music video.

A source shared: ''Beyonce and Gwyneth are not friends at the moment.

Beyonce's staff have been openly discussing it. ''Gwyneth hasn't been happy with how close Beyonce and Madonna have become. It was especially annoying to her that Beyonce appeared in Madonna's last video.

''It's a case of 'the friend of my enemy is not my friend'.'' Beyonce and Gwyneth - whose ex-husband Chris Martin is pals with the 33-year-old star's husband Jay Z - have been very close in the past but are said to have had a bitter falling out, with Gwyneth referring to Bey as a ''toxic friend''.

The insider told The Sun newspaper: ''Beyonce has definitely switched allegiances.''

The news comes after the 'Mortdecai' actress admitted earlier this year that she reached out to Beyonce after seeing the infamous footage of her sister Solange attacking Jay in an elevator.

She said: ''I never say, 'What's going on?' If any of my friends have anything like that, I call right away. Absolutely... If someone's clearly going through something, I always go straight for it.''
