She's such a wimp. This chick just cannot take responsibility for her actions. She does something wrong, and then when they threaten to sue her (to make her pay for her actions), she wimps out and alters the video. And yet her fans think she's soooooo innovating. They're probably gonna say some crap like, "She altered the video out of respect!"

In light of all the reviews I've posted lately (of the Rebel Heart tour) and older tours which state how Madonna shows up one or more hours late for her own tours -

I think this reveals she's not as "in control" and as disciplined as she makes herself out to be, or as journalists keep portraying her as.

I do think she is a control freak to a point.

She sometimes (according to reports) is way too strict on her children, won't let them eat any candy at all (or drink alcohol, or smoke, or watch TV, or whatever), and so on and so forth (but she or they are sometimes photographed eating candy, or drinking, or whatever, so there is some hypocrisy or inconsistencies going on).

It has become a cliche' though, for writers to go on and on about how disciplined she is and how control she is in of her career, her exercise regimen, her diet, etc etc.

But then you keep seeing these tour reviews about how she shows up an hour or more later for her own tours.

Anyone else who regularly showed up an hour late to a job would have their ass fired.

I don't think being regularly late shows much discipline or being "in control."

Au contraire, mon amie ... her starting shows late is a way of controlling her audience, as if to make them reach any breaking point of allegiance they have towards her. To reinforce the passion they have for her "hard" work & endurance. At the end of the day, she doesn't have to answer to anyone - she wants to be above all other mortals. Or so she wants it to seem.

I don't believe in unconditional love, or admiration, for that matter. If someone treated me the way that Vadgdonna treats her fans, I would leave the relationship, even if you were my own family. I'm more forgiving with family, but too much is too much.

I have no use for abusive and stupid, ego-based, twits.

I see your point, but considering that she is portrayed as a work-a-holic perfectionist with a great work ethic (and she supposedly takes her job very seriously), showing up to your own concert an hour or more late doesn't demonstrate discipline or being in control.

I do think it can be argued that her tendency to show up late frequently can also demonstrate a sense of entitlement.

One wonders why she supposedly spends hours in hard, grueling, pain staking tour rehearsals day after day only to be so cavalier about getting to her own shows on time.

There is a disconnect between the Madonna mythos we get about her being an in-control hard worker and her sloppy actions.

While she still made money on the show, some in the audience got up and left, according to some reports. They got fed up with waiting and walked out.

I can't always be here to post new stories and stuff. You'll notice when I'm not here posting new links, the board usually goes pretty stagnant.
--------------------
I might copy this to one or two other threads.

For years, some of the media and fans have praised Madonna because she's a take charge, in control kind of person.

She never backs down, they say. Until she does.

She pulled her original American Life video when the public had a fit about that years ago. She also dropped out of appearing in concert in Israel or wherever a few years ago because she got death threats, but claimed she had the flu or whatever. So sometimes, Madonna does in fact "cave in" over public pressure.

Here's another example:

Madonna will not perform sensitive segment in Singapore, organiser clarifies
  • We wish to reconfirm MDA’s earlier response to this matter and clarify that Holy Water will not be a part of the Singapore show," says organiser Live Nation Lushington.

    Posted 19 Feb 2016 13:46 Updated 19 Feb 2016 23:08

SINGAPORE: Madonna will not be performing her controversial song Holy Water during the Singapore leg of her Rebel Heart Tour later this month, clarified organiser Live Nation Lushington on Friday (Feb 19).

In an article published by the Straits Times on Feb 16, it cited an investor in the show, Chief Executive of Kinglun International Holdings James Lee who said Holy Water would be performed in an amended version at the Singapore show.

Live Nation Lushington also stated that it had a cleared song list and performance that would meet the Media Development Authority (MDA) guidelines and requirements of show licensing in Singapore. The company holds the licence for the show.

MDA stated previously that Madonna would not be allowed to perform the segment because it contained “religiously-sensitive content which breach our guidelines".

The regulator reiterated that the concert organiser has agreed to comply with the terms of the license. "(The license) states that the concert should not contain content or materials which offend any race or religion, and that the performance overall must fall within the guidelines of the R18 rating."

Madonna’s Rebel Heart tamed in Singapore
  • By Alvin Chong Updated 29 Feb 2016 00:31

SINGAPORE: She might be on her Rebel Heart Tour, but when it came to meeting the Media Development Authority (MDA) guidelines the Queen of Pop was a little less than rebellious.

For the Singapore leg of her tour on Sunday (May 28), Madonna performed a modified opening segment of her tour, cutting out the songs Iconic, Holy Water and Devil Pray before launching into the second segment. The cut songs are usually performed in the first of four segments of the concert, also known as the Joan of Arc / Samurai section.

The video introduction of the concert was also modified, with the cross-adorned portion of the staves held by dancers removed.

Fans still got to see the rest of the songs in the segment, where dancers clad in samurai-influenced costumes performed with the singer, and where she performed with a guitar.

MDA had previously stated that Madonna would not be allowed to perform the segment because it contained “religiously-sensitive content which breach our guidelines". Organiser Live Nation Lushington confirmed before the concert that the singer would not be performing the banned segment.

Even with some songs removed, Madonna erred on the side of caution, filtering her language until about halfway through the show, when she asked fans if she could swear.

Fans in Singapore also got to listen to her sing Crazy For You live. The song has only been performed on this tour one other time – in Manila. Before that, it was last performed live in 2004, according to concert website setlist.fm.

There were some changes towards the end of the gig as well. Madonna started her encore song Holiday without a Singapore flag, replacing it with a flag with a peace sign. She had come under fire last week for using the Philippine flag during her concert Manila and earlier in the month, sparked ire in mainland China after she draped a Taiwanese flag over her shoulders for her performance in Taipei.

Still, the M18-rated show saw a topless flapper dancer for the song Candy Shop, just as it was done for other stops of her tour.

And fans still got about 18 songs for Madonna’s first concert in Singapore. The singer has been performing between 18 to 20 songs throughout her tour, not including one line from the song Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend.

Fans had mixed reactions to the edited set list. Diane S, a banker, said that the concert was “too short”, while her friend Emmie said “they shouldn’t stifle creativity”.

Meanwhile, Malaysian couple Cheryl and Peter said that the concert definitely met their expectations “because it’s Madonna”. They added that having controversial segments was “expected” – “if it’s not in, it's not Madonna”.

However, Japanese businessman Tsukamota said in Japanese that he felt the concert was a normal length and that the experience was good.

Before her concert on Sunday, controversy surrounded Madonna in Singapore after the Catholic Church called its followers to not support those who denigrate or insult religion. Other church leaders in Singapore also later aired their concerns to Law and Home Affairs Minister K Shanmugam, while the Anglican Church also weighed in on Saturday, calling for church members to "avoid everything that darkens and defiles our hearts and minds".

Organisers said nearly 25,000 fans turned up for the show, which lasted two hours.
